Early voting: Half of U.S. begins voting by tomorrow
By NBC's Kyle Inskeep
Election Day may be Nov. 6th, but with President Obama grabbing a lead nationally and in key swing states, Americans are already starting to vote.
Idaho, South Dakota, and the crucial swing state of Virginia are the first states to begin early, in-person voting today.
Also today, absentee voting begins in Minnesota, West Virginia, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Georgia, Arkansas, Idaho, and Maryland, bringing the total number of states already accepting ballots to 13. Twelve others -- South Carolina, New Jersey, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, New Hampshire, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Delaware, Louisiana, and Missouri -- will begin absentee or early voting Saturday.
That means, by tomorrow, half the country will be casting votes. By the end of the month, voters in 30 states will be voting already.

“Election Day may be Nov. 6th, but with President Obama grabbing a lead nationally and in key swing states, Americans are already starting to vote.”
NBC still trying soooooo hard.
They’re all in. Depending on the outcome, they’ll either be heroes or goats.
Let’s make sure they’re goats.
Why do we have early voting?
Democrats had to find new ways to cheat.
In a story ignored by the national media, in April a Tunica County, Miss., jury convicted NAACP official Lessadolla Sowers on 10 counts of fraudulently casting absentee ballots. Sowers is identified on an NAACP website as a member of the Tunica County NAACP Executive Committee.
Sowers was found guilty of voting in the names of Carrie Collins, Walter Howard, Sheena Shelton, Alberta Pickett, Draper Cotton and Eddie Davis. She was also convicted of voting in the names of four dead persons: James L. Young, Dora Price, Dorothy Harris, and David Ross.
one person singlehandedly cancelled out 10 FReepers votes in ‘08
I guess I knew the answer.
Early voting means more time to screw with the ballots.
I saw a headline on Yahoo hyping Obama’s “lead”. I hope these polls look worse than the 2004 exit polling data. November 6th can’t get here fast enough for me.
I show up in person to vote. I love walking through liberal gauntlet in the parking lot there and telling them where to go (Back to your mothers cellar). LOL!
“Why do we have early voting?”
If voting happened on just one day, the lines would be long enough to reach Europe - it couldn’t be done in one day.
Voting by mail allows disabled people who can’t get to the polls, to vote and allows the elderly to vote without having to stand in long lines on election day. It allows people to vote who won’t be in their town on election day. It also allows people in jail who haven’t been convicted, to vote. It allows people in nursing homes to vote.
I am over 65 and will vote by mail so I don’t have to fight for a parking space and stand in line for a long time which would kill my lower back and wouldn’t be able to walk the next day and I’d be on pain pills. That is such a bad problem, I likely would not vote if I had to stand it line.
All those reasons is why we have early voting and voting by mail.
Anyone see the picture of him on Drudge right now? He looks whiter than my husband- especially his arms- and his face looks unevenly smudged. Someone must have forgotten his tanning cream.
Remember the left’s motto; “Vote early and vote often.”
My once beet-red district has been invaded by African Marylanders in huge development we not to fondly call “Øbamastan”.
Guess why I’m voting absentee?
Live in Florida here. Moved in 2006.
Daughter in 2006 got issued a Florida drivers license. She surrendered it in 2009 to get a CT license.
Now I had to force my insurance company to remove her from the auto policy by showing them her CT license. Florida never canceled her license, or CT never performed the cancellation process inter-state.
Now, 2012, Florida just sent her a license renewal expiring in Dec 2012. So for three years she has been a citizen in TWO states. In the FL mailing there is also an application for registering to vote. She wasn’t 18 in 2006 so she never registered in FL.
Also in the renewal mailing from FL on her license renewal form is her actual license number. The same number that is all that the voter registration needs to validate her here in Florida to vote. FL has provided the ‘KEY’ to allow for anyone who gets this to commit fraud.
Nothing to stop a mailbox thief from filling this in and fraudulently voting this November. The signature will match because the signature is whatever the thief puts on the registration form tomorrow.
So many ways to cheat in U.S. elections.
There is no reason for early voting. Also, not one of these voters have seen a single debate. This should really help Obama on the heels of the 47% video and before media censorship of the truth in Libya begins to unravel.
Voting in September? You libs better wait for the October surprise! Hillary is pretty pissed that Obama threw her under the bus. She knows stuff!!!!! Might be embarrassing to have to say “dang, I already voted for that Communist SOB!
In Texas with early in person voting most likely you’ll not have to stand in any long lines. At least I’ve never have had to. Generally walk up and within five minutes I’m at a voting machine.
Only those who are very motivated, ie, whose vote is not gonna change no matter what happen between now and November, will do the early voting. So, no need to freak out.
I'll have a cup of coffee (and a cigarette) and do my marking. We use voting machines at polling places and you know someone is waiting for you to finish so you rush - the only one around me at home is my Yorkie, Prissy and she doesn't care how long it takes me to vote. I’ll probably have to remove her from my chair as she might decide to take a bite out of the ballot. She loves to destroy paper.
