Tonight, Bret Baier of Fox News reported that intelligence sources believe that the mastermind of the al Qaeda attack on our Libyan consulate is one Sufyan Ben Qumu. Qumu was a tank driver in the Libyan army; he was a drug addict and spent time in prison. From there, he fled to Egypt, then went to Afghanistan and joined up with Osama Bin Laden. He later joined the Taliban, and was captured in Pakistan, then turned over to the United States. Qumu was released from Guantanamo Bay in 2007 to the Qaddafi-led Libyan government, on the condition that Libya and the US could reach a “satisfactory agreement … that allows access to detainee and/or access to exploited intelligence.” In 2008, as the Qaddafi government made nice with the Libyan rebels, Qumu was released.
That’s where the story gets even more interesting. The Obama administration promptly labeled Qumu an “ally of sorts,” according to the New York Times – that despite the fact that as of 2005, he was known as a “medium to high risk … likely to pose a threat to the US, its interests and allies.” What made him an ally? According to the Times, that status change was due to the Obama administration’s “remarkable turnabout resulting from shifting American policies rather than any obvious change in Mr. Qumu.” As a leader of the Libyan rebels...

If Qumu is Obama’s “ally of sorts” its certainly true that O is Qumu’s ally. O and the Sorosians helped overthrow the Egyptian government and turn it over to the Muslim Brotherhood, and in Libya doing so meant backing Al Qaeda rebels like Qumu.
The ambassador probably didn’t see his end coming, since he had helped to put the rebels into power. He probably thought he had a pass.
But no. Al Qaeda and the Brotherhood have their own agenda, and while Obama sympathizes with AQ and MB’s agenda they do not sympathize with ours. Obama has caused the US to switch sides in the “war on terror” and no one in the press seems to have noticed. And all it bought us was a trashed consulate and a dead ambassador. Its hard to feel for a guy who gets bit by the snake he was playing with, but he represented us and the snake bit him as an attack on us. And will do it again at the first opportunity.
Or possibly it is more sinister than that.

Sinister but not surprising. There are strong suggestions that Obama has already had other targets assassinated to conceal damaging information Bout his background. It would not be surprising that he would try to create a crisis that would make him look like a hero when comes riding in to save the day. Not so sure that’s what happened there but that is a very interesting coincidence indeed.

I agree. I don’t know what was going on here, but not much would surprise me.

Bush had an agreement with Libya which was tossed when Qaddafi got into trouble with the Islamic revolution.
