On Wednesday September 12, 2012 blogger Speak With Authority discovered that five days before 9-11, the US State Department sent out a memo announcing no credible security threats against the United States on the anniversary of 9-11.
The Overseas Security Advisory Council, who posted the memo, is part of the Bureau of Diplomatic Security under the U.S. Department of State.
The OSAC memo said:
Terrorism and Important Dates Global 9/6/2012
OSAC currently has no credible information to suggest that al-Qaida or any other terrorist group is plotting any kind of attack overseas to coincide with the upcoming anniversary of September 11. However, constituents often have concerns around important dates, holidays, and major events, Often times, these concerns are the result of increased media attention to the issue, rather than credible evidence of a terrorist plot.
But now its gone.

I am not much for conspiracies. If there is any conspiracy here it is the incompetence of this administration.
However, playing along with you for a second here.... there is NO CHANCE that Obama wanted these events to take place 2 months before the election. Some are tying themselves into a Machiavellian pretzel when the truth is simple. We are governed by idiots.
You can’t control a mob. Obama might not know that but the operators it would take to run something like this do. What if they had taken hostages? Certainly possible and what a mess that would be. At the DNC convention and weeks leading up to it and even on 9/10 the DNC talking points were all focused on how successful this administration was in foreign policy and how our Apologizer-in-Chief was responsible. The company line was “we have turned the corner and they like us so don’t jeopardize that with Romney.”
Obama could not run on the economy, but he was claiming foreign policy as a positive. Now that is in shambles and it’s not over yet. Every day more information comes out and it looks even worse.
They were caught with their pants down. Why? Because they are arrogant idiots who don’t have a clue how the real world works. Their foreign policy is built on the same rainbows and unicorn farts their economic policies are. Obama liked to blame Bush for the foreign policy problems he inherited, but Obama built this. He owns it.
Why? To whom? Certainly not Hillary or Obama, they would point to this memo and say, in effect, " I am entitled to rely on what the open source document recapitulation tells me."
If one wants to make an argument that the agency responsible for creating this memo is at fault, that is an entirely different matter. Then we have an argument that Obama and Clinton were negligent in their supervision of the State Department. We have already seen openly published travel advisory issued by the State Department itself which says:
...violent crime continues to be a problem in Tripoli, Benghazi, and other parts of the country. In particular, armed carjacking and robbery are on the rise. In addition, political violence, including car bombings in Tripoli and assassinations of military officers and alleged former regime officials in Benghazi, has increased. Inter-militia conflict can erupt at any time or any place in the country. Seven Iranian Red Crescent officials were kidnapped July 31 in Benghazi by local militia members, and as of the date of this warning, they have not been released. There have also been several reports of militias briefly apprehending and detaining foreigners....
(Hat tip to not2worry for providing this information here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2930218/posts). There have been, of course, other revelations about knowledge of the danger which can be imputed to Clinton and Obama.
One could rightly point to the State Department's own state of information as expressed in this travel warning to fault Hillary, and by extension, Obama for failing to draw the obvious conclusions. The memorandum which this article cites, on the other hand, would no doubt be cited by Hillary and Obama to the effect that they were not warned of danger in Benghazi but quite reasonably relied on contrary intelligence. Recall when George Bush was criticized for accepting faulty intelligence from the head of the CIA who stood in front of the president in the Oval Office and said, referring to the alleged existence of weapons of mass distraction in Iraq, "it is a slam dunk." We conservatives said that Bush was entitled to rely on that representation.
Reason so dictates, depending on what the definition of "is" is...

The Feds have tanks, aircraft, new automatic weapons, explosive munitions, and nukes.
I thought you were ded, fred. How's Ethyl?
We have arrogance, icompetence and treason in the WH, Dept’s of State, Justice, Homeland Security, perhaps and likely the CIA, and the of course the complicit lamestream.
Hillary is a pig. She’d better STHU about that idiot film.
eddie - Socks C. sez - uh - what’s fur dinner?
Conspiracy to destroy this country or sheer stupidity. Isn’t it scary that half the people in this country are stupid enough to vote for him again.
I believe you would be referring to the John Nolte story over on Breitbart that Bill Maher, who has given a million to Obama’s campaign, did a religious mockumentary that made fun of Islam (as well as other religions).
Anybody angered that the State Department would do something like this? And likely get away with it?
It's true - if you check you will find that folks on bases were told that the anniversary was upon us, so be alert, but don't worry because there ain't nothing in the mill. The bases didn't even bother upgrading their security posture to "be more alert and situationally aware". If something had happened State-side, it would have been the same sort of acceptable sacrifice to make it appear that the Admin was on top of things.
‘Connect the Dots’ Epic Fail!
What does Obama gain by this?
And as we al learned from the Nixon years, the COVERUP is far worse than the original, naive memo. Scream it from the rooftops, they are in major damage control mode. Appalling.
The Fourth Estate is the Fifth Column.
Would you give the link to the statement on our Embassy site on the IED attack?
Thanks.

Exactly. I was just about to type up something similar.
The administration is not incompetent; everything is going according to plan.
The video lacks specifics and the lawyer in the video indicates that searches here have only come into play in follow-up investigations (FBI agents storming the house with guns drawn needs explanation for instance (for example, did they have a valid warrant or reasonably believe there was an emergency?). Government officials must have performed a search (or seizure) of one's "person, house, papers or effects" to have implicated the Fourth Amendment. Generally, a "search" must involve violating one's "reasonable expectation of privacy" which is determined based on the specific facts of the circumstances.
Bares repeating.
