Tropical Storm Isaac threatens to dampen the Republican National Convention Monday in Tampa, Florida. National media outlets are having a grand time anticipating a Grand Old Party washout. Tampa mayor Bob Buckhorn (D) announced Wednesday that he is absolutely prepared to call off the convention next week, with anticipated attendance of 70,000 delegates, party officials, journalists, protesters and others. Buckhorn has not indicated that he would attempt to mitigate liberal protests or a hastily planned Joe "Plugs" Biden visit to Tampa during the convention.
Time will tell. Stay tuned...

The older I get, the more cynical I become. Just darn.
I'd really hate to see it miss a trip over the mountains in Cuba
.
We’ve been having really bad storms all day here in Eastern Virginia and one of my friends actually asked if they were because of Isaac..............it’s bad enough she asked the question - but she did it publicly on Face Book.
I know, I shouldn’t have dumbocrats as friends.......
I won't be surprised if the projected landfall moves west over the next 24 hours.
A couple of hours ago someone on TWC said basically that the Republicans were stupid for not shutting down their convention completely. Nope, not an agenda there.
Definitely increased convection wrapping around the center of circulation, and a remarkable flare up of convection over the eastern Cuba mtns.
Hope you’re doing OK down there. Looks like it’s going to pretty much miss us. Some wind and rain...normal summer storm, basically!
YOu are absolutely correct! Ivan did that! Just couldn’t get enough hurricanes in ‘04!
Just think how dull this world would be if we didn’t have dumb-as-dirt libs to laugh at.
LOL! Oh so true!
Well, the latest models cluster around the mouth of the MS as a cat 4 and some of them take 30 HOURS to go from there to Baton Rouge. They’ve spent so much time harping on Tampa and the evil republicans they may have created another bigger disaster by not getting this into people’s psyche over a weekend. It takes 60hrs, minimum, to evac lower La.
Let’s all pray it goes to TX as a gentle rain.
OK thanks, strange organization to this storm.I think we are getting or first bands right now. Molasses up to near 28 knots baro 29.83 and dropping.Headed or way for sure.
Thanks for that Elle, strange looking eye to me.No doubt about the circulation.
Heard that before .. lived it as well. You are a Freeper it all turns out good.
OK so far thanks. High tide in the morning at 5:06am,I will probably miss it too tired to get up but if there is a tide line in the street you know the water rose. Big tide tomorrow at 6:01 pm,the one to watch for us.
