A number of local chapters of the National Organization for Women are denouncing the DNC convention rules, saying that they unfairly exclude mothers with young children.
"Women are the key to a Democratic victory, and sometimes, children are the key to women. It's both right and smart for the Democratic Convention to behave as if children exist," activist Gloria Steinem said in a release.
The group of southern California chapters of NOW are pointing to the lack of childcare at the conventions, as well as the difficulty female delegates have in bringing children to the convention floor. According to the activists, the DNC is requiring young children to have credentials to come onto the convention floor with their parents.
"Moms with young children 6 years of age and under who cannot be left at home, some of whom are breastfeeding, are relegated to second-class status within the Democratic Convention, unable to participate as a delegate due to antiquated policies and inadequate accommodations that were apparently in place before Womens suffrage," Susie Shannon, a delegate to the 2012 DNC Convention.
"The DNC requires children and babies to have a credential to enter the Convention, and then denies these credential requests from moms. The DNC credentialing process is being used as a tool to prevent mothers from participating at the Convention and is nothing short of discriminatory," said Lindsey Horvath, president of the Hollywood NOW.

Trouble in the worker’s paradise?
Gloria Steinem is 78 years old.
The sad fact is that Democrats don’t have kids - they have abortions instead. (Which is why they are so frantic today - demographics are a b**tch.)
And it’s fairly obvious that if this article is true, moms with kids are an embarrassment to them when they have tried so hard to prevent procreation at every turn. They’ve gone from kids should be seen and not heard to kids shouldn’t even be seen.
Since Democrats believe kids to be a "choice" then it only makes sense that kids shouldn't be allowed on the floor. After all, one can assume that the DNC believes kids should be aborted and not seen. If they are seen then what does that do to their "choice" platform?
Most adults don’t want to go anywhere if kids (not their own)are there—restaurants, airplanes, movies, etc.
A convention is for adults. I’m sure most of these delegates don’t want to hear crying, tired, BORED!, whining infants and toddlers at this thing. Obviously, CHILDLESS Gloria Steinem and the NOW outfit is clueless on this issue.
NOW should change its name to National Organization for Democrat Women.
It is an organization for liberals whose members just happen to be all women.
Maybe we should all chip in and buy Octomom and her kiddos a ticket to the convention. I’m sure Gloria would be happy to share her room with them and bring them all to the floor of the convention every day.
Sleep with the NOW Nags, and wake up with the scabbie-baby’s.
This could get funny!
Many Democrats believe kids are horrible because human beings are bad for the environment.

Target-rich source material (( ping )).
Sometimes? Is that when they're too busy aborting those children?
Wow! When did Gloria Steinem, who never married (lesbian?) and never had any children, become and expert on motherhood?

Christian Bale in the news lately, I read his father
David was married to Gloria (2,000 - 2,003). She was
his third wife, his second wife was Christian’s mother.
Don’t you think it was a suffering for Christian?
What children? Is there some kind of rent-a-kid franchise in the neighborhood?
