Who Does The Government Intend To Shoot?

The Social Security Administration (SSA) confirms that it is purchasing 174 thousand rounds of hollow point bullets to be delivered to 41 locations in major cities across the U.S.  No one has yet said what the purpose of these purchases is, though we are led to believe that they will be used only in an emergency to counteract and control civil unrest. Those against whom the hollow point bullets are to be used — those causing the civil unrest — must be American citizens; since the SSA has never been used overseas to help foreign countries maintain control of their citizens.

What would be the target of these 174, 000 rounds of hollow point bullets? It can’t simply be to control demonstrators or rioters. Hollow point bullets are so lethal that the Geneva Convention does not allow their use on the battle field in time of war. Hollow point bullets don’t just stop or hurt people, they penetrate the body, spread out, fragment and cause maximum damage to the body’s organs. Death often follows.

Potentially each hollow nose bullet represents a dead American. If so, why would the U.S. government want the SSA to kill 174,000 of our citizens, even during a time of civil unrest? Or is the purpose to kill 174,000 of the nation’s military and replace them with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) special security forces, forces loyal to the Administration, not to the Constitution?

All my life I’ve handled firearms. When a young boy growing up on my father’s farm in Pennsylvania Dad’s first rule of firearms training was, “Never point a gun at someone, in fun or otherwise, unless you intend to shoot them. If you shoot someone, shoot to kill.” I’ve never forgotten his admonition. It stayed with me through my Boy Scout training, when I enlisted in the army as a Private to fight in the Korea
War, during my days as a Ranger and Paratrooper and throughout my thirty-four year military career.

If this were only a one time order of ammunition, it could easily be dismissed. But there is a pattern here. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has ordered 46,000 rounds of hollow point ammunition. Notice that all of these purchases are for the lethal hollow nose bullets.  These bullets are not being purchased and stored for squirrel or coyote hunting. This is serious ammunition manufactured to be used for serious purposes.

In the war in Iraq, our military forces expended approximately 70 million rounds per year. In March DHS ordered 750 million rounds of hollow point ammunition. It then turned around and ordered an additional 750 million rounds of miscellaneous bullets including some that are capable of penetrating walls. This is enough ammunition to empty five rounds into the body of every living American citizen. Is this something we and the Congress should be concerned about? What’s the plan that requires so many dead Americans, even during times of civil unrest? Has Congress and the Administration vetted the plan in public.

I fear that Congress won’t take these ammunition purchases seriously until they are all led from Capitol Hill in handcuffs. Why buy all this ammunition unless you plan to use it. Unknown to Congress, Does DHS plan to declare war on some country? Shouldn’t Congress hold hearings on why the Administration is stockpiling this ammunition all across the nation? How will it be used; what are the Administration’s plans?

Obama is a deadly serious, persistent man. Once he focuses on an object, he pursues it to the end. What is his focus here? All of these rounds of ammunition can only be used to kill American citizens, though there is enough ammunition being ordered to kill, in addition to every American citizen, also every Iranian, Syrian or Mexican. There is simply too much of it. And this much ammunition can’t be just for training, there aren’t that many weapons and “shooters” in the U.S. to fire it. Perhaps it is to be used to arm illegal immigrants?

We have enough military forces to maintain law and order in the U.S. even during times of civil unrest.

We have local police, backed up by each state’s National Guard, backed up by the Department of Defense. So in addition to all these forces why does DHS need its own private army? Why do the SSA, NOAA and other government agencies need to create their own civilian security forces armed with hollow nose bullets?

Were I the JCS, and if I wasn’t already fully briefed on this matter, I’d stop the purchase of hollow point bullets, ask the secretary of Defense why all this ammunition is being purchased and spread around the country? If I got answers like the ones Congress got during the investigation of Operation Fast and Furious – I’d start tracking all ammunition deliveries nationwide to find out what organizations and units are using them, for what purpose and, if it is not constitutional, prepare to counteract whatever it is that they are doing.

This is a deadly serious business. I hope I’m wrong, but something smells rotten. And If the Congress isn’t going to do its duty and investigate this matter fully, the military will have to protect the Constitution, the nation, and our citizens.

They know there are too many guns in this country and they would never be able to confiscate even a fraction of them, ergo control the ammo. Ammo is not protected under the 2nd amendment.

If true that will have it's own set of unintended consequences. One bright spot for investors and market growth will be the reloading market.

And we have been brainwashed into believing that the Second Amendment’s right to carry arms was for hunting.

I think this massive order for ammunition has several purposes. One it ties up manufacturing of ammunition for civilian use. It increases the prices for brass, bullets, primers and powder and creates a shortage. This ammo may end up with Obama’s civilian army that he wanted as well armed as the military. His brown shirt army will be knocking on our doors to collect guns after Hillary gets the UN small arms treaty passed

Who indeed?

Well, we have a big Social Security office right down the road from me, and I've had to go there several times. Here's my observation:

Their entry is always by permission of armed security officers, and -- no arms allowed for the clients. Another officer in the waiting room also admits each person, one at a time, whose number has come up, into the inner interview windows.

For whatever reason they are there, a often few of the interviewees are in appearance, language, and attitude of the dregs of society. I suppose the security officers are there to protect the clerks and interviewers, and me -- an older client, from the dregs -- especially from budging the line.

The impassionate clerks and interviewers, and the government's nonsensical policies they must follow, can raise one's ire to the boiling point. Get the point?

My conclusion:

174,000 rounds is not much to give the officers across the nation needed practice for their occupation. Shucks, I could go through a thousand rounds in a couple of months if I was bent on having fun, and not having to pay for the ammo -- certainly in a year. Talking with our state pistol champion a couple of years ago, it's nothing to go through 50K rounds preparing for competition.

But I suppose the Hydra-Shok rounds are to keep the carry guns refreshed, using the older ones shot both to practice and to make sure those carried have not deteriorated through sweat, dings, age, etc. Seems OK for SS officers -- oops! I meant SSA guards. That's not a lot to be concerned about, even for a medium-sized city police department.

But a hundred million for HHS??!! Come ON!

>>So what are the other 439 rounds for ??

It’s the gov’t. They’re shooting it up at the range when they should be using ball.

This fact alone would could actually support a citizen Civil Rights Law Suit in federal court against the idiots who ordered this ordnance. And it should be a personal law suit, against those involved, for they have exceeded their authority.

“42 U.S.C. § 1983:

Every person who under color of any statute, ordinance, regulation, custom, or usage, of any State or Territory or the District of Columbia, subjects, or causes to be subjected, any citizen of the United States or other person within the jurisdiction thereof to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured by the Constitution and laws, shall be liable to the party injured in an action at law, Suit in equity, or other proper proceeding for redress, except that in any action brought against a judicial officer for an act or omission taken in such officer’s judicial capacity, injunctive relief shall not be granted unless a declaratory decree was violated or declaratory relief was unavailable. For the purposes of this section, any Act of Congress applicable exclusively to the District of Columbia shall be considered to be a statute of the District of Columbia.”

Just because various federal agencies have taken decades to employ armed officers to enforce what passes for law does not mean they do not represent a serious threat to liberty.

In a republic the government need not fear the governed.

As government gradually determines it must defend itself from the people, it means the people are increasingly ruled rather than governed and are showing signs of resistance.

It means the drift to despotism that our Framers feared is here.

Every bullet the gubmint purchases is done so with the intent a human be shot.

That is as nonsensical as the Brady Campaign saying the only defensive use of a gun is to shoot someone with it. Law enforcement goes through a lot of ammo just in target practice and qualifying.

Can’t use hollow points overseas. Violates the ORIGINAL Geneva Convenction. No, those rounds are meant strictly for us, the residents of the USA....

Maybe the administration really does fear a popular armed uprising upon its rotten pot of alphabet soup. Why else a stash of that size? Social Security for heavens sake.

Like money laundering, the more you have, the more can be skimmed or covered up. My bet is that this ammo won't end up in the hands of the agencies who ordered, at least not a bunch of it.

As to the destination of the 'missing' ammo, it could be anyone from the cartels to street gangs to Obama's 'private army', who might not be just the Federal minions under his administration, but other 'causes' he has been sympathetic toward.

Considering it is highly likely that funds have been diverted from the trillions thrown around during this administration, anything is possible when unusually large amounts of most anything are involved.

Individuals such as members of this forum for starters. Freedom lovers, those who do not bow down and worship them, Christians who worship God and not government. Later on, teir slaves who they no longer have any use for.

I agree with your whole post, but I would include both of the parties that make Washington what it is in this description. They -have- to keep the nation polarized.

The pickpockets work the crowd while they are distracted with the theater of opposition. In reality, both sides are being played for suckers, and the crooks at the top are raking it in.

I think the fear in high places is that people are beginning to get a glimpse at the game behind the curtain, and once people begin to 'get it' in significant numbers, things could get ugly.

Okay, I get there are swarms of Federal officers out there, authorized to use lethal force.

I get that you train for best results with the ammo you are going to be using in a crunch.

So, just how many people are we talking about here, anyway?

You can't put the numbers into any perspective without that variable.

"When I worked a fugitive task force we had SSA/OIG/OI agents working with us too. If someone is wanted for on state charge for child molestation, but is also collecting benefits, that is a viable fugitive case for SSA/OIG. The felony warrant could be anything a felony habitual traffic offender to someone wanted for murder.”

This function is what the Federal Marshalls are supposed to do.....provide the firepower, when needed, to enforce the other Federal agencies. For each agency to have the equivalent of its own army simply stinks to high heaven.

Mayhaps. But the armed Federal types I run into daily complain that if THEY want to practice, both ammo and range time are on their own time and money, not Uncle Sam’s. . . They get 100 rounds a year for qual, and 3 loads: one in weapon, and two extra mags. . .
