security guard at the Family Research Council's headquarters in Washington, D.C. is being hailed as a hero after he stopped a gunman posing as an intern, taking a bullet in the arm before wrestling the suspect to the ground.
The gunman entered the lobby of the organization's Chinatown headquarters around 10:45 and expressed disagreement with the conservative group's policy positions, Fox News has learned. When the guard, who was not identified, asked him where he was going, he opened fire, according to police.

D.C. has a Chinatown?
The suspect "made statements regarding their policies, and then opened fire with a gun striking a security guard," a source told Fox News. WJLA-TV7 reported the suspect was also shot. Sources also said the gunman may have been carrying a bag from Chick-fil-A, the embattled fast-food restaurant whose president came under fire from gay activists after he said he did not agree with same-sex marriage.I think it's pretty clear, from the suspect's own statement, that he was there in opposition to the group's politics, that he was there to terrorize conservatives because of their stands, and therefore is an unambiguous case of domestic terrorism.Sources told Fox New that after guard took away his gun, the suspect said, "Don't shoot me, it was not about you, it was what this place stands for."
Authorities were treating the attack as a case of domestic terrorism, although James McJunkin, the head of the FBIs Washington Field Office, said authorities do not yet know the gunman's motive.
This guy takes a bullet then wrestles the armed gunman to the ground.....
And you say, “What is heroic about that?”
Really?????
Amen to that!
This is just another in a line of MSNBC-inspired, Hate-Induced violence.
The MSNBC Klux Klan will get even more violent, the closer we get to the election.
I pray for the innocents they will harm.
I hope that the Reichstag is well protected this time.
So understated I thought it a British news outlet.
I have a feeling that this kind of thing is going to be happening all over the country against conservative groups and candidates. The level of hatred and the agitation of these maniacs by the highest levels within the administration combined with the complete lack of enforcement against lefties for such violations by the Eric Holder Justice Department will assure that there will be blood running in the streets both before and after this election.
If I were Romney or Ryan, I’d be very careful. The administration is trying to portray these guys as murderers and worse and this has to have an effect on the crazies in the occupy movement.
Yeah, it's about 1 square block in the area around the Verizon Center (about one Metro stop each from the USSC and Metro Center).
Another thread on this shooting had outrageous comments from The Advocate site. Here some of them:
Jan Baekgaard Pedersen: Unless of course we can swoop in and kill all the hatemongers in one big swoop and simply eradicate them....sometimes it takes a little sacrifice for the common good;-)
First of all, anyone who takes on the job of security guard, has to expect that they are the first line of defense against a would be miscreant... doing the job to begin with raises that person above the norm, and to take a bullet while performing his duties, makes him a hero at least to the people he was serving... you take a bullet for performing your duties to protect, I’ll call you a hero whether you think you deserve it not...
Yes it does. When I was in DC growing up in the fifties and early sixties Chinatown was maybe three tiny restaurants and two laundries. Took the DC Transit bus through there every day during my school years. Different now I hear. They got rid of the laundries.
:^.
A bit off topic but, speaking of Romney or Ryan, does anyone know if there is Secret Service protection for them?
A couple of lunatics managed to charge the stage when Ryan was speaking and they are still alive.
Does that answer your question?
I am delighted to observe that it is also pretty clear that this conservative organization is well-defended. I hope the Left learns that this is how all such ventures end.
They need some time to figure out how to pin him on the Right Wing Lunatic Fringe, a Republicanteaparty organization whose chairman's name is Ryan.
Well, it does indeed (@ the earliest look) appear to be a "hate" crime -- as the Left defines it -- and there's been NO shortage of "inducers."
