So what about freepers? we like paul ryan? i like what he says, i just wonder if all Romney has done is given a bigger target to he whose name may not be spoken.
You are so right. Anyone who refuses to vote for socialists has to be special on an ABO thread. Special equals conservative and the principle special people stand on is — just say no to socialists, yours and theirs.
“Republicans” can have a good time with their socialist, Romney. Conservatives will keep holding conservative principles, thank you very much.
Have you noticed they never tell you who they want, just who they don’t want? Every cycle. If it had been any one other than Romney the same people who have found some reason to bitch and moan.
Ryan is pretty good.
But it’s not enough to get me to pull the lever for a lying, baby-killing statist.
The battle between Ryan and Palin for the 2016 race could get pretty interesting, but I hope it doesn’t damage conservatism.
I’m “attacking” your un-Christian like behavior, in your refusal to accept Romney’s conversion to Pro-Life.
How would you have him “prove” it?
He has selected a VP who is strongly Pro-Life, and Romney proclaimed this attribute in his introduction of Ryan.
What “deed” would you have Romney perform?
Or, are you content in your hate?
As for “Romneybot”, I donated to Newt, and voted Santorum in our Caucus.
It’s nice to see everyone happy and in agreement for a change.
Yup.
The DNC might (probably will!) double down on the “historical” aspect of having TWO black candidates on the ticket, one being a “conservative” from the Bush administration.
I’m predicting Powell. Call me out in a week.
Many who post here are irrelevant.
Few brag about their irrelevance like you do, however!
Why even bother, why post at all, if you are so cynical that you believe all is lost?
I was thinking about that when I was writing my reply to you. I also thought about the Republican supposedly speaking at the DNC convention. Could that be Powell?
Only, the Black vote is pretty well sewed up. Not as much as 2008, but the vast majority can be relied on, regardless how they feel about the gay issue. So, would he reach out to another ethnic group to shore up that constituency? That's why I mentioned the Hispanics. Then again, he's already courted them with the amnesty decision.
But, I concur. I don't see Hillary as being considered.
I like Ryan, but Mitt Romney’s still Mitt Romney, and his senior campaign staff is still his senior campaign staff. I think those guys are perfectly capable of screwing this thing up, whoever the VP candidate is.
We shouldn’t mind being targetted for holding conservative positions. Being targetted for being an out-of-touch Massachusetts moderate with no apparent core values is another story entirely.
Bottom line is Obama will destroy the very entitlement programs he claims to embrace by driving us so far into debt that the country will be forced into draconian austerity measures. Entitlements are safer under the Ryan plan. The debt crisis needs to be Big Idea #1 in this campaign because it will sooner or later hurt the quality of life for everyone in the country.
Hopefully unloading some BIFF BAM POW on this guy.
The way I see it go big or go home!!!
I sure hope it makes big changes. I was encouraged by the fact that Ryan’s acceptance speech didn’t mince words.
Romney sure wasn’t my first (or second, or even third) pick. But we’re stuck with him, so it; since to know at least he’s picked someone tolerable as VP.
He also supported the auto bailout.
He also supported the auto bailout.
That's true but it overlooks a couple of points. First, Romney will be judged by his choice and, trust me, people vote for Romney.
But more importantly is the fact that Romney needs someone competent in the White House who can push his budget/agenda through Congress. Is there anyone better qualified to do that than Paul Ryan. Methinks not.
Remember when Bush chose Cheney? Did that help Bush win? I don't think so. Cheney was "divisive". But did he help Bush run the White House? You betcha, Big Time. So it will be with Paul Ryan. An excellent choice.
