Imagine Tea Party extremists seizing control of a South Carolina town and the Army being sent in to crush the rebellion. This farcical vision is now part of the discussion in professional military circles.
At issue is an article in the respected Small Wars Journal titled Full Spectrum Operations in the Homeland: A Vision of the Future.

” - - - Im more inclined to think that we will end up with prolonged chaos more than anything else.”
Perhaps I missed it, but no one has brought up the subject of City States. Currently, the best model to look at is NYC.
City States with defendable marine harbors could then supply the interior City States if the corridors of transportation could be defended.
Labor Unions would have to choose to lose their membership cards, to put it politely - - .

A few thousand active Taliban armed mostly with rusty old AK-47s are tying down how many of our troops, MRAPS, helos, Predators, etc? Are we winnin that one? Imagine not a few thousand Taliban with old AKs, but millions of soldiers with experience from Vietnam to OIF, armed with scoped deer rifles.
Could be interesting times.

I could not get the link to work.
Obama gang said they wanted to kill 25 million people to launch their Utopia. I don’t think it would bother them to do that to religious white people and conservative white people. I’d like to see them an’ git it. We’ll take out at least one for one. It would be the end of America, that’s for sure.

Who says that US is not winning against the Islamist insurgents?
The facts.
Are you over there? Talk to most people with multiple deployments and you might be surprised. Please provide empirical evidence that radical Islam has been neutralized and put down. You would be surprised how little was done despite killing "hundreds of thousands", check your math as well. BTW, I have killed many cock roaches in my day but the insurgents perpetually keep the invasion up wasting time and resources trying to stop the vermin.
Even those Washington DC shooters paralyzed the entire region, so imagine the terror unleashed by thousands of insurgents.
Contrary to the fighting strength of the US military, they would be no match to a civilian army, who pays for their room & board, of numbers in the 90,000,000 range. Plus the "insurgents" would have no rules or PT requirements dumbing down their training.
The military supply chain will be severely disrupted by armed uprising, thus preventing the military from mobilizing effectively.
Well, both supply chains would be disrupted but like any other successful revolution, the appeals and overtures to outside forces (Sympathetic to a rebellion or nations that just hate the US government) from a foreign State will be made. If deals are made then all bets are off.
Also you fail to account for the retention rate of the US military. Contrary to popular belief, freedom comes first to many in the military; not all members are "careerist".
BTW, the foundation like citizens in the United States are blessed with (Of arms and resources), are not at the Chinese rebels disposal. Why do you think politicians are crazy about gun control or politicians who pretend to be Pro 2 but love to back-door supporters in implementing gun control?

There are no lawful orders when the commander-in-chief is unlawful.
So you think my son, an E-4 in the Army, should refuse to do anything because of the above belief? If so, you are an idiot. Number one, anyone with half a brain KNOWS that position is a loser which at the very least would get him punished and probably get him kicked out of the Army. Even Sun Tsu talked about only choosing battles you can win, and that battle you suggest is a loser. Number two, even if all of the enlisted personel decided to refuse to do anything because of your belief, the end result would be our Armed Forces purged of Constitutional, right minded people. Who is going to fill those spots? The Black Pampers? Wake up and get real, dude! The responcibility for making sure Obama meets the Constitutional requirements is Congress and the Courts. Both have refused to do their duty. So now are you going to refuse to obey any laws passed by Congress or inforced through the courts because they are failing in their duty? Of course not! Don't purpose actions that you aren't ready and willing to lead.

Don’t feel too bad. On this very thread we have an active duty commissioned officer admitting that his paycheck is more important than his sworn oath to defend the Constitution.

I don’t feel bad at all. As for my son, I feel nothing but pride.
What I know though, is that your mouth is writing checks that your own ass won’t cash. Citizens have more freedoms and opportunity to create change then soldiers, so why don’t you lead something instead of chastising others for something you won’t do yourself.

"What I know though, is that your mouth is writing checks that your own ass wont cash. Just ask your son. If a few more officers had honored their sworn oath like Col. Lakin, Obama would have had to step down, IMHO.
I don't expect 18 year old recruits to understand Constitutional law. The officer corps is another story.
