President Barack Obama, along with many Democrats, likes to say that, while they may disagree with the GOP on many issues related to national security, they absolutely share their admiration and dedication to members of our armed forces. Obama, in particular, enjoys being seen visiting troops and having photos taken with members of our military. So, why is his campaign and the Democrat party suing to restrict their ability to vote in the upcoming election?
On July 17th, the Obama for America Campaign, the Democratic National Committee and the Ohio Democratic Party filed suit in OH to strike down part of that state's law governing voting by members of the military. Their suit said that part of the law is "arbitrary" with "no discernible rational basis."
Currently, Ohio allows the public to vote early in-person up until the Friday before the election. Members of the military are given three extra days to do so. While the Democrats may see this as "arbitrary" and having "no discernible rational basis," I think it is entirely reasonable given the demands on servicemen and women's time and their obligations to their sworn duty.
The National Defense Committee reports:
[f]or each of the last three years, the Department of Defenses Federal Voting Assistance Program has reported to the President and the Congress that the number one reason for military voter disenfranchisement is inadequate time to successfully vote.
I think its unconscionable that we as a nation wouldn't make it as easy as possible for members of the military to vote. They arguably have more right to vote than the rest of us, since it is their service and sacrifice that ensures we have the right to vote in the first place.

Another bump for later review...
The military does NOT like President Obama—by a large margin. Let there be no doubt of that. Therefore, it’s only understandable for the Democrats to try and disenfranchise military voters. Let there also be no doubt that the left is only about winning and could care less about the rule of law, fairness, morality, or anything else. They only play the game, aka follow the rules, so long as they are winning. If they can’t win by the rules, they contest the rules in court. If they can’t win in court, they simply do whatever they wanted in the first place. That is the nature of the enemy we conservatives face. They are fighting to win, and if that means disqualifying military votes by the thousands, they will do it. Al Gore proved that in Florida—wanted “every vote counted” my ass!
GOPJ: “...is it REALLY America voting for Obama?”
No. It’s not, and THEY DON’T CARE. If Americans won’t vote for Obama and the leftists in sufficient numbers, they’ll import a voter base, illegal aliens, or disenfranchise legitimate voters, the military, in order to win. It’s what they do.
Good idea pepsionice... Thanks for sharing.
Campaign commercial on a silver platter. Use it.
+1 to that good suggestion.
SOP for Democrats. Preventing members of the military from voting or throwing out their votes were key elements of Gore’s stategy in 2000 and very nearly succeeded in gaining him the Florida electoral votes. The final margin Bush won Florida by was much less than the number of disallowed military votes, if I remember correctly.
Isnt it just great we have a President who wants to stop the vote.
This is the sort of thing will disgust any independent. Spread it as far and wide as you can.
Bump
Oh-Bah-Mah must REALLY be worried about Ohio.
Gee, I recall the obama campaign being all for early voting back in 2008:

I could not agree with you more. “No taxation without representation!” A lot of FReepers are ready to draw blood over this, and I am one of them.
Thank you for the ping, Dave.
and they just happen to misplace their absentee ballots or send them out to late if they are deployed, makes you wonder if they cull by name so they get more dem votes
” I think its unconscionable that we as a nation wouldn’t make it as easy as possible for members of the military to vote. They arguably have more right to vote than the rest of us, since it is their service and sacrifice that ensures we have the right to vote in the first place.”
Not unconscionable, CRIMINAL!!!!
