Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, a rising star in the party and a potential vice-presidential pick for Mitt Romney, said this morning that he disagreed with Republican Rep. Michele Bachmanns baseless call to investigate Muslim Brotherhood infiltration in the U.S. government.

As a seasoned old talk radio host Lee Rodgers said many, many times in his illustrious carreer... “Never fall in love with a politition! They’ll break you heart every time!!!”
He’s weak period!
Bachmann has established the TeaParty Caucus in the House of Reps and has far more fidelity to the Tea Partiers than almost any other elected official in Warshingtin!!!
I guess it doesn't come naturally when you're not natural born.

That’s going to be my new tagline.
A word of caution on reviewing this article...its coming from SALON. Their choice of words to describe the conversation is meant to be inflammatory...I think they’re looking for a two-fer.
Don’t need an investigation. McCain got ahold of it and read it on the Senate floor and then began his scurrilous attacks on Bachman.
You are absolutely correct. Bachmann is on the House intelligence committee (as is Gomert) and the letter was sent as a matter of oversight and inquiry. It should have been answered rather than having McShady reading it on the Senate floor. Arizona should be ashamed of his lousy legacy.
The 'conservative' puppetmaster defending the Brotherhood on this issue is, in my opinion, Grover Norquist. Even our hero Mark Levin was quick to shut down Robert Spencer of JihadWatch.org on Friday when Spencer began implicating Morquist in the attacks on Bachmann. Levin called it "other people's battles", when in fact it was his close relationship to Norquist that caused him to cut off Spencer. Republican politicians are terrified of incurring the wrath of CAIR.
Wow, it took 36 posts till somebody with a brain responded intelligently. Some of you people are ready to believe Salon.com without ever going to the source to see what Rubio actually said. The Left puts out the bait and you swallow it hook, line and sinker. Why do you think the Left is attacking Rubio like that? Use your brain. Thanks Armando for getting the facts.
“A word of caution on reviewing this article...its coming from SALON. Their choice of words to describe the conversation is meant to be inflammatory..” You nail it SueRae. FreeRepublic lost a lot of good posters and I hope they come back. We seem to be over run with ron paul types that want to lose to prove how uniquely pure of thought they are. They were for John Anderson in 1980 and Ross Perot in 1992.
Another excellent example of why Rubio would be a very poor choice for VP.
At least for republicans.
That should be Mrs. Bachmann, a happily married woman. I doubt she'd much care for a title coined by the reprehensible Marxist duo of Sheila Michaels and Gloria Steinem.
That minor matter aside, your other points are well stated and indisputability correct.
Frankly, Sierra Wasp...I gave up on Rubio during his “dream” period.
He’s slick or, as my husband would say, AFBSer.
The first two words in that acronym are “A Flashy”. ;o)
Both are evil religions Islam and socialism. Democrats practice socialism and their god is government. Islam well it's just plain evil. Obama is both an Islam and a marxist.
Thanks for your post. It took 36 posts for someone to point out the true Rubio quote and the mischief solon is up to. Come on Freepers, read the article!
Well, here is the episode I was talking about. I donated to West’s campaign in 2010, so I was upset with his comments during this controversy. I have looked at more recent articles and it looks like West is still a Tea Party darling.
I do think though that his support of the debt ceiling increase was unfortunate, as was his response to the criticism he justly received. I remember thinking at the time that I had made a mistake in donating to his campaign.
Earlier today, The Blaze reported on Rep. Allen Wests defense of his support for Boehners controversial debt plan. West is striking back against Tea Party critics who are less than pleased with his allegiances. In addition to appearing on Fox News to defend his stance, West spoke with radio talk show host Laura Ingraham. During the interview, he lamented the Tea Partys schizophrenia and reaffirmed his take on the speakers plan. He said:
one minute theyre saying Im their tea party hero, and, what, three, four days later Im a tea party defector, you know, that kind of schizophrenia Im not going to get involved in.

As we have pointed out before, Freshman Congressman Allen West was manipulated by the Decepticon establishment into supporting various horrid legislative constructs; most damningly the raising of the debt ceiling. West joined with McCain and Boehner calling the Tea Party, hobbits, childish and damaging. Now the establishment is done with West and hes about to find out what that means. He sold his soul (support) to them and now that hes completed their bidding they will eliminate him.
Then, when congressional leaders and the White House worked out the debt-limit compromise, West wasnt among the 66 House Republicans in opposition. Tea party leaders howled, but West called them schizophrenic, and he theatrically brushed their criticism off his shoulders.
I called some of the tea party leaders, he told his audience at the Young Americas Foundation conference on Wednesday. They were all, Were mad at you, he said with a mock whine, then gave a who-cares shrug. I asked them one simple question: If I had voted no, what would I have been voting for? And they couldnt answer that.
Not sure where you get this “Ron Paul supporters” or John Anderson supporters” nonsense...but the fact is that Rubio is no conservative.
He supports Open Borders and Illegal Alien Amnesty...so no surprise he would attack Bachmann on a National Security issue. Rubio also supports Government funded programs to deal with Global Warming.
Actually a “Ron Paul type” would support Marco Rubio....libertarian views on Open Borders....weak on National Security...and supporting terrorist groups. Heck, maybe Rubio should be Ron Paul’s VP pick...they share a lot of the same liberal, security threatening positions
We seem to be overrun by cowards who think that protecting the party is the only thing that matters and all bad news is a media lie.
No wonder the GOP is dying.
No party does.
Tea partiers do though.
Rubio is not represenative of the Tea Party principles.
"Dumping" of the Tea Party isn't necessary to start another conservative movement.
Ping me when you get the new turely conservative movement going.
