Between yesterday's fantastic speech and this BuzzFeed report, is the Romney campaign finally immersing itself in the 2012 bare-knuckles brawl? Pow:
In speeches from Des Moines to Dallas, Romney has always been careful to hedge his tough digs at Obama with a civil nod toward the president's moral character: "He's a nice guy," the Republican has often said. "He just has no idea how the private economy works." But Tuesday's speech included no such hedge and one campaign adviser said there's a reason for that. "[Romney] has said Obama's a nice fellow, he's just in over his head," the adviser said. "But I think the governor himself believes this latest round of attacks that have impugned his integrity and accused him of being a felon go so far beyond that pale that he's really disappointed. He believes it's time to vet the president. He really hasn't been vetted; McCain didn't do it." Indeed, facing what the candidate and his aides believe to be a series of surprisingly ruthless, unfounded, and unfair attacks from the Obama campaign on Romney's finances and business record, the Republican's campaign is now prepared to go eye for an eye in an intense, no-holds-barred act of political reprisal, said two Romney advisers who spoke on condition of anonymity.
In the next chapter of Boston's pushback which began last week when they began labeling Obama a "liar" very little will be off-limits, from the president's youthful drug habit, to his ties to disgraced Chicago politicians.

The only way I would vote for Romney is if he chose Newt for VP. (I’d vote for Palin, too, but there’s not chance in the world that he’ll pick her, especially with the new person who is directing his campaign.)
Romney really has no chance of winning because he’s just not different enough from Obama and has a long track record of the same things: Romneycare, the father of “gay marriage” in MA, etc. Only people who really despise Obama will vote for him, and unfortunately, not enough people in the US really despise Obama.
That said, if his campaign actually started challenging Obama on his lies and misdirection, it might capture the interest of a few people. And if he got a bulldog like Newt to do the work for him, that would certainly help. Although no matter what, the problem is that we are still left with an unlikeable, liberal, wealthy loser in the Kerry mold at the top of the ticket.
I’ll believe he is getting tough on Barry when he starts saying what the president is doing in UNAMERICAN.
Fraudulent use of another’s Social Security number.
I’m sure it didn’t hurt. Good Job.
They need to vet the entire Obama team. From the Czars on up. But, will settle for Obama.
Excellent! I only heard part of Hannity’s show and at that point he was promoting the Zimmerman interview.

Obama is a nice guy, eh Romney ? He is an evil POS that would cut your nuts off while swigging a beer!!
“Demand Obamas passport applications. Which passport did he use to travel to Pakistan, 1981, Indonesian, Kenyan or U.S.?”
Yes, with all Hussein has to hide, Mitt could demand an item AT LEAST once a week.
Remember how when J F’n Kerry was running, Big Media each week announced some new bold plan Kerry was UNVEILING.
Mitt won’t have Big Media helping him, but if he held a presser every say Tuesday morning at a particular time bringing up some NEW fraud, long known to us but never reported by Big Media, he would SLAM the door on Hussein’s stones every time.
Never let up.
Attack, attack, and if in doubt attack.
Hussein sucks. Tell him and us all so every day.
The un-McCain. How refreshing.
Ok Romney, let’s roll! You take it to this guy, you will get my heart and my money........
Damn straight that!! This is one PA Tea Partier, who let Mittens know in no uncertain terms he’d be getting no support till he grew a set and stood up on his hind legs!
We’ll see.
Great post! Thanks for the first-hand information!
M.Romney ‘d better get balls quickly
Then call his bluff. He wants to see your tax returns -- offer him one year of returns for his college records in a public exchange.
Thanks for your report — I’m guessing you weren’t able to pose any questions? (ref your post about FReepers submitting questions). I’ll withhold judgment on whether Willard took any TEA Party paraphenalia seriously... skeptical.
I think that’s a good sign but I find the rationale to be bizarre. He gets fired up because of a idiotic charge that Romney is a felon? If Romney really believed in this stuff he would have been fired up from four years ago to oust Obama because he is destructive to the country.

Let them start with this when they ask for his tax records again!
