George W. Bush opens new health clinic in Zambia
While former U.S. President George W. Bush faces some often harsh criticism as commander in chief from those who claim he led the nation into unpopular wars and additional criticism from opponents who claim he initiated failed economic policies,he has taken on a new role as an advocate for women's health in Africa. Both he and his wife Laura Bush have recently opened a women's health clinic in Kabwe, Zambia.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - President Bush was in Africa to promote cervical cancer detection and treatment programs for Zambian women, many of whom are living with HIV.
"We care because we believe that to whom much is given, much is required," Bush says. "And those of us, who live in America, live in the most blessed nation ever and therefore when we see suffering, we ought to act."

Mr. Global World is continuing his big government love.
Anyone notice.....No one has ever seen anyone associated with the white house eating watermelon.
Jorge should hire ex-President Clinton to work at the clinic. He has long held a deep interest in women.
NO, I DON’T MISS HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everytime Obama opens his Marxist Muslim Mouth about anything, I miss Jorge less and less. Also his buddy Juan McCain.
What is wrong with you people. He’s doing a Godly thing and helping people and all you can do is criticize?
Christianity is growing in Africa because of things like this.
Here in the States, “Women’s Health Clinic” is a newspeak euphemism for “Abortion Mill”.
I hope that’s not the same thing in Africa.
Can’t he help out in Colorado or Virginia, where there are families in need too? Didn’t he give enough of our BILLIONS in taxpayers dollars to these Africans already? No, I WON’T say a nice thing about this. I just watched a CSPAN clip in which this assclown called those of us who want to secure the border “xenophobes”. I have utterly no use for him.
May I ask? the reason that you had to snark a smarmy-mouthed retort to this really lovely story/ outreach that President Bush is doing is...?
The man is a thousand, million times the man that our current ‘dear leader’ is.
Absolutely. And, unlike Clinton, he doesn't brag about it.
Pouring more money and effort down the drain that is Africa. How about helping out at home? How about a little payback for those who voted for and supported W? Seems to me there are several problems here he could throw his money and influence at.
He should work on solving America’s problems first. For a start he should spend every waking hour to undo the damage his Supreme Court appointee wrought.
How about AFTER he fixes that disaster, he can go and start working overseas?

Show me one dime of Big Government money or intervention.
He is doing extremely good works for people who really need the help.
You should be ashamed of yourself, for being 100% wrong about his actions and for being 100% wrong about his intentions.
I imagine you are one of those people who think everyone else should give to charity, but not you.
By all means, work on a women’s project in Africa, there’s no election and no problems to solve at home. Is Bush as big a pariah as Nixon or is he seeking Jimmy Carter status?
It makes you wonder why he hasn’t at least snagged some headlines for Christian Charities in place of failed government programs in the good old US.

There are a lot of not-so-secret obama supporters here at FR.
He is doing this because he hates black people, you know.
I agree with you. My daughter has been to Uganda twice on mission trips. There is a growing Christian movement there and God’s word tells us to care for the poor, widows and orphans. I’m not a big fan of Bush but applaud what he and Laura are doing. Can’t wait to see how Obama spends his retirement starting in January!
Love kills; Hate redeems.
We will conquer the galaxy because we hate alien races, even before we have met them.
Those alien races are the worst. Kill them.
There's nothing worse than that.
Tonight, I shall sup at the table of despair, and snack on the nuts of hopelessness.
I shall spit out the bitter seeds of kindness.
