Former Commerce Secretary John Bryson tested positive for the sleeping aid Ambien, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office.
Prosecutors announced Tuesday that they have decided not to file criminal charges against Bryson in connection with two alleged hit-and-run crashes in the San Gabriel Valley last month.(snip)His tests showed low end of therapeutic levels and a criminalist could not say if it was a factor in the collisions. Both treating doctors agree he was suffering confusion following a seizure and crashed as a result, according to the memo.

Having taken Ambien, for a short period, in the past, I can attest to how bad it can screw with some people. Heck, I’m living proof.
After the first couple of days taking it, I began to sleep eat. I, on one occassion, even prepared a beef curry while completely asleep - my gf, at the time, woke up at 3am to find me immersed in my cooking.
On another occassion, my gf pulled me out of my car, which I had started and was about to depart the driveway - while completely asleep. I never had any recollection of any of the events the next day.
Needless to say, I ceased taking it.
Ambien causes seizures?
Rat criminal conduct is ALWAYS excused, rarely prosecuted, and never punished.
Short answer - Yes. There is always an underlying condition, sometimes previously not diagnosed.
Thinking the same thing
When a similar incident happened to Bob Novak, the Lefties were ready to execute him.
If your doctor prescribes Ambien, REFUSE! I almost burnt my house down whilst taking it. It brought back my childhood sleepwalking problems. My doc will no longer prescribe to anyone!
Yes, I’ve heard many real-life stories like this. And these are people who had no history of sleep walking.
And don’t EVER drink with it. Don’t even think about it!
I think Ambien is bad, it may work for some people, but it should be very, very carefully monitored.
It’s a sleep aid, yes? I doubt you’ll get much rest if you’re up cooking and driving while asleep!
“Caution should be exercised by motor vehicle drivers.”
I have a friend whose a retired LEO. He pulled over a women, driving in he pajamas one night. She was driving erratically. When he was questioning her, she woke up! “Where am I? What;s going on?” What was “going on” was AMBIEN! Do not take it! Ask for something else!He also related several other cases to me.
I use the generic form - Zolpadem. The worst thing that happened to me was; one night I sleepwalked into the kitchen, ate an entire carton of strawberry ice cream and then went back to bed.
They had a damn junkie drug addict right there in the cabinet.
bryson was “ambien sleep driving’...screw the seizure crap. He was drivin’ dirty, same as tigger woods..

Whoa, is that the experience that gave cause of your tag line?
What if John Q. Public was involved in two hit and runs and was found with low-level therapeutic levels if Ambien in his system? You can bet your butt - cause it'd be a safe bet - that a DUI would have been charged. The ruling elite don't even try to hide their lawlessness anymore. We pay their salaries and they are exempted from the laws that we have to live by. This is bullspit.
I doubt he took Ambien and then drove. I never did, and most people of reasonable intelligence do heed this warning. However, I did drive 9 to 10 hours after taking it - my morning commute to work. Was all of the Ambien processed by my body and filtered by my liver by then? Likely not.
Ambien being present in someone's system doesn't indicate at which concentration or provide a reasonable timeframe for when it was ingested.
Whether I like the guy or not, I understand this drug and have an appreciation for how pharmaceuticals affect biochemical reactions. I'm not going to pile on a guy whether he is a liberal or a Conservative - it's what should seperate intelligent Conservative thinkers from liberal savages.
Sounds a lot like alcoholic blackouts.
