The ESTRANGED is Taking the Kids to DC Tomorrow. Is It OK? DC FREEPERS? Can you hear me?
The kids are going with the estranged, who doesnt have the great judgement in the best of times, to do monument visits in DC.
So aside from the minor detail of it being over 100 degrees, (Good Grief!) how is it in DC? Power in the city? All the little angels being good?
Please tell.
It’s a dry heat, not like my Mom is dealing with on the Chesapeake.
Best to you and yours.
There are parts of the city in which I live where I wouldn’t go...in broad daylight...with a police escort.
D.C.? No, thank you. I was there in the 60s. It was bad enough then.
DC is actually three different worlds:
1 - Tourist World.
Well policed and fairly safe during normal visiting hours.
Be far away before dark.
2 - The Streets of the Powerful and Filthy Rich.
Well policed and safe at all hours.
You are not welcome there.
3 - The Nasty Underbelly.
Not as bad as Detroit, statistically. (but the DC police lie about the statistics)
Only fools, druggies and lost tourists venture here.
Well I think it is a bad idea to post your personal life here and to use the tone that you do concerning the mother of your children.
And because you have it indicates a lack of good judgement on your part.

Dry heat, huh?
Was in LasVegas a number of years ago to grab a camper and tour the West, and it felt like walking into an oven. LOL
Stay safe and blessings to you.

The Estranged is not the mother of my children.
“east Asians pushing?” HA....I had a Chinese friend back in 1970 or so who told me she knew Chinese people who would take long hatpins to Nordstorm sales and use them to er...diminish the crowd....
It doesn’t matter, only an idiot would post personal information like that online. You could have just said you were traveling to DC for some sightseeing and what’s it like after the storms. Instead of the stupid drama, makes us think you may be a drama queen.
LOL!!
OK, Your propane is really expensive!
I buy mine for about a dollar per gallon less, and the generator idles often cuz we are not running AC.
The price of propane seems to follow the price of gasoline around here pretty closely. I'm hoping that my refill will be closer to $3 per gallon this week than the $4 I've been paying.
Even without the heat pump, I have a lot of stuff on the generator. I have a room full of computers (they run my business) that are never off (or, at least, are never supposed to be off).
I could easily load up a second 20KW generator with the stuff I don't have connected, LOL.

The thing to worry about with the hot weather combined with power outages, is that some purveyors may try to pass off food that is borderline spoiled or has been refrozen. In this kind of heat, it’s asking for real gastric trouble. They should only eat pre-packaged food and drinks — if she is crazy enough to press on with this plan in the middle of a power crisis.
OK, now I'm really confused. Care to help us out here?
That’s about all you can do. And after all you picked the estranged one to begin with... I tell that to myself a lot.

Me too.
They have left. God be with them. My son has a good head on his shoulders...actually most of the kids do.
I suspect that in the west, the price of propane is affected by the abundant availability of natural gas. Propane is a byproduct of petroleum refining, and once storage capacity is reached, the rest has to go to the flare pit for disposal.
I used to call mine F-X. Now she is just X.
The riots should start in DC tonight.
Of course it will be fine. I wouldn’t hesitate to go to DC. In fact, I’d like to go again after Obama is defeated.
I’m sure they will go to the touristy places.
I wouldn’t worry, especially since there’s not a dang thing you can do about it anyway. Just tell the kids to have a good time.
When I replied before I wasn’t thinking about the weather and damage issues.
I thought you were concerned about general safety in DC.
Now would not be a good time to go. Even Obama has left.
The riots should start in DC tonight.
I hope there is still an inverse relationship between riots and heat, the hotter it is the less the liklihood of riots.
