The ESTRANGED is Taking the Kids to DC Tomorrow. Is It OK? DC FREEPERS? Can you hear me?
The kids are going with the estranged, who doesnt have the great judgement in the best of times, to do monument visits in DC.
So aside from the minor detail of it being over 100 degrees, (Good Grief!) how is it in DC? Power in the city? All the little angels being good?
Please tell.
I wouldn’t worry, especially since there’s not a dang thing you can do about it anyway. Just tell the kids to have a good time.

Good point and they think on their feet well. Like with most young sibs, the two of them together make one wise adult as far as decisionmaking. In this case, one would be focused on issue at hand and the other would see the bigger picture.
Hotel rooms are hard to find because there are still hundreds of thousands w/o power in the DC Metro area. I am in Bethesda, and Bethesda/Rockville is bad (we will not get power back by Thursday, they said). My office is in No. VA, and we have power now. Some gas stations cannot pump...not the best time to be here...good luck.
Now would not be a good time to go. Even Obama has left.

No gas, no power...usually when you head towards this scenario you are in an utility truck looking at BIG overtime or a church bus filled with volunteers!
If Mount Vernon has power (I would bet it does), that would be a good place to go. The “Education Center” is air conditioned—as is the restaurant—and they can cool off there. It’s only a short 12 miles from downtown DC.
I will keep them in my thoughts and prayers.... and you too.
