So, if the court strikes down the mandate part, the administration will still proceed on giving away taxpayer-funded healthcare, but no one will be forced to pay into the system (except the dwindling base of Federal taxpayers of course). Well, that should be really great for those of us unfortunate enough to have to pay taxes.

Why don’t they just borrow some money? Isn’t that the default solution in Washington?

They should throw the whole thing out, since congress didn’t bother to sever the mandate from the rest of it.

But these days, who knows what the court will do?

Obama ignores everything that he disagrees with - whether it is the Constitution, the Congress or the Supreme Court.

What are you going to do when he steals the election?

New Executive Order: “All citizens must purchase health insurance. However, the administration will instruct the HHS and IRS not to prosecute certain demographic groups for failure to comply.”

And the press wonders why we call them liberal...and they wonder why we call them biased and more. The AP is acting in concert with people who would circumvent the protections of our constitution to realize their un-American, un-Constitutional utopian world view. I just love how they phrase it up so as to say that no matter what you know or no matter what the bill actually says and does it is good. It is OBSCENE...how they passed it is OBSCENE and un-American and Un-Constitutional...to look past this obvious and get emotional about it all (which is what they want) is ludicrous!

Wait a sec. Pelosi et al. didn’t want a piece meal deal of the ObamaCare, they dared the Supreme Court to strike it down as unconstitutional.

Now that it looks like Supremes are about to do that, Obama is still going to ram the damn bill down our throat?

Romney is “mulling” it over also. He has entirely backed away from “repealing Obamacare”, and today would not deny that he will let it stand until a “longer term plan” is put together, and “not this stop gap version” Obama has before us, kicking in December 31st at midnight.

Translation: Obamacare kicks in, in all its parts salvaged by the Supreme Court.

[If the mandate is struck down, that would still leave in place a major expansion of Medicaid, the federal-state safety net program for low-income people.]

In states whose constitution mandates a balanced budget the expanded Medicaid program will drain their treasuries and force cuts in other public services and jobs.

Former Tennessee Gov. Bill Bredesen, a Democrat and Obama supporter, predicted ObamaCare will be a fiscal disaster. He complained that the law was formulated by people “who don't know how health care works in the real world.”

I am thinking that obamma is projecting to the USSC what he wants, by allowing them to strike down the mandate and a few other exceptions in the bill, but for them to allow him to keep the rest of the bill. He is telling them this so he gets a little victory.

But analysts have said for months, if the mandate is struck down, the whole bill must go. But for obamma to salvage part of the bill, he is telling the judges to take out certain parts that are impossible to survive without the mandate, but keep the rest.

Will the justices follow obamma's orders?

The justices would have to read the entire bill to see what is in it, something Peloski never do, and then do due diligence, something Peloski never did. And this supposed to be responsibility of Congress.

If anyone thinks this or what may be the next administration aren’t thinking about a pared down health care plan, I think they’re blind as can be.

Romney has proven himself a person who is sympathetic to fixing the health care system.

Get government out of it. That will fix it in short order. Don’t expect either of these men to do that.

I heard from an insurance executive today that the won plans on mandating via executive order that the states require compulsory insurance.

Who will stop him. He’s been the ‘EDICT CZAR’ since he took office. Lots of braying about it but no action. It just invites more impeachable actions. And he will do whatever he can to muck u things for the next guy.

SCORCHED EARTH is not a policy, it’s a loser’s side tactic and he will use it at every opportunity.

How much more damage in 140 days?(more if you count until 1/20/13)

There is no severability clause in the bill. If any part is found unconstitutional, the entire bill is invalid.

How will he fund it? If it’s found to be unconstitutional I hope the House will finally grow a pair and defund it.
