~Favorite City Songs~
Kings of Leon - Manhattan live
Well I could dance all night And some of the day That's how I play That's how I play
I say who are you No matter who you are So you dance all night And you dance all day
I say I say
Gonna build a fire Gonna smoke it up Gonna sip this wine And pass the cup
These avenues and these reseviors We gonna show this town How to kiss these stars
I say I say
You've come to kill Gonna spend it high Your parents grieve I know they are right
And then talking to you Well they calm you down So it's all for you who let you down
I say I say I say I say
Just wanna take you hand I'm gonna drive you home Just gonna keep on Keep on, keep on And you gonna have a rest

George Strait - Amarillo By Morning
"Amarillo By Morning" Amarillo by morning, up from San Antone. Everything that I've got is just what I've got on. When that sun is high in that Texas sky I'll be bucking it to county fair. Amarillo by morning, Amarillo I'll be there. They took my saddle in Houston, broke my leg in Santa Fe. Lost my wife and a girlfriend somewhere along the way. Well I'll be looking for eight when they pull that gate, And I'm hoping that judge ain't blind. Amarillo by morning, Amarillo's on my mind. Amarillo by morning, up from San Antone. Everything that I've got is just what I've got on. I ain't got a dime, but what I got is mine. I ain't rich, but Lord I'm free. Amarillo by morning, Amarillo's where I'll be. Amarillo by morning, Amarillo's where I'll be.

A parting shot on my way up the stairs, FRiends!
"Right proudly high over Dublin Town, we hung out the flag of war!
For 'twas better to die 'neath an Irish sky, than at Suvla or Sudlebar!"
Genuflectimus non ad principem sed ad Principem Pacis!
Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

One of the best.
Here’s a living in the South story. My wife and I went to an SEC game in Oxford, MS and stayed in Tupelo. It was Ark and Ole Miss (Ark couple here living in TN).
That Saturday morning we left to go to the game and it was the coolest, brightest, cloudless, blue sky day I’ve ever seen. So here we are in a Chevy Silverado with Ark vanity plates from TN on the truck, driving through MS to a great football game and on the radio the local channel we had on cranked up “Sweet Home Alabama”.
Heaven!

Oh, btw, I went to high school in Booneville Ark and my wife grew up in Hazen, north of Stuttgart on I-40.
We are both alumni of the Univ of Ark.

Ive always wondered if it was possible to find a song from at least one city in every state. Probably not, but fun trying. ,p> Well, we have Glen Campbell's "By the Time I get to Phoenix". That's a start, eh?

I enjoy Spring too much for Summer to begin in April. I wonder if any state actually has 4 seasons anymore!
Less than 2 weeks ago we were in the 60s with rain. Forecast is for 104 on Saturday. Crazy!

My favorite song with a city or town in it is Dylan's "Talkin' New York."
At the end of the song, when he is through describing how fed up with New York City and how awful he was treated there, he says he's gonna head for Western skies.
"So long, New York. Howdy . . .
East Orange."
Where I was born.
If you can stand Bob Dylan, here it is.
