In Case You Don't Like Romney...
Columnist Andrew McCarthy gives us what probably is the most important question regarding the upcoming presidential election
If Romney wins the nomination, as seems very likely, I will enthusiastically support his candidacy. For my friends who may have hesitation on that score, Id just ask you to keep four things in mind:
1.. Justice Scalia just turned 78
2.. Justice Kennedy will turn 78 later this year
3.. Justice Breyer will be 76 in August
4.. Justice Ginsburg turned 81 about a week ago and has had cancer twice.
Whoever we elect as president in November is almost certainly going to choose at least one and maybe more new members of the Supreme Court in addition to hundreds of other life-tenured federal judges, all of whom will be making momentous decisions about our lives for decades to come.
If you dont think it matters whether the guy making those calls is Mitt Romney or Barack Obama, I think youre smokin something funky .
So for anybody who is thinking of not voting because your favorite didnt get nominated, or writing in a candidate who can't win ... just imagine this possibility:
'SUPREME COURT JUSTICE ERIC HOLDER'
Did that get your attention!
Has Mr. RomneyCARE apologized for his PAST appointments yet?
"Governor Mitt Romney, who touts his conservative credentials to out-of-state Republicans,
has passed over GOP lawyers for three-quarters of the 36 judicial vacancies he has faced,
instead tapping registered Democrats or independents -- including two gay lawyers who
have supported expanded same-sex rights, a Globe review of the nominations has found.
Of the 36 people Romney named to be judges or clerk magistrates, 23 are either registered Democrats
or unenrolled voters who have made multiple contributions to Democratic politicians
or who voted in Democratic primaries, state and local records show.
In all, he has nominated nine registered Republicans, 13 unenrolled voters,
and 14 registered Democrats."

Romney Rewards one of the State's Leading Anti-Marriage Attorneys by Making him a Judge
Romney told the U.S. Senate on June 22, 2004, that the "real threat to the States is not the
constitutional amendment process, in which the states participate,
but activist judges who disregard the law and redefine marriage . . ."
Romney sounds tough but yet he had no qualms advancing the legal career of one
of the leading anti-marriage attorneys. He nominated Stephen Abany to a District Court.
Abany has been a key player in the Massachusetts Lesbian and Gay Bar Association which,
in its own words, is "dedicated to ensuring that the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court decision
on marriage equality is upheld, and that any anti-gay amendment or legislation is defeated."
- U.S. Senate testimony by Gov. Mitt Romney, 6/22/2004 P>
"Romney announces he won't fill judicial vacancies before term ends
Despite his rhetoric about judicial activism, Romney announced that
he won't fill all the remaining vacancies during his term - but instead
leave them for his liberal Democrat successor!
Governor Mitt Romney pledged yesterday not to make a flurry of lame-duck
judicial appointments in the final days of his administration . . . David Yas,
editor of Lawyers Weekly, said Romney is "bucking tradition" by resisting the urge to
fill all remaining judgeships. "It is a tradition for governors to use that power to appoint judges
aggressively in the waning moments of their administration," Yas said.
He added that Romney has been criticized for failing to make judicial appointments.
"The legal community has consistently criticized him for not filling open seats quickly enough
and being a little too painstaking in the process and being dismissive of the input of the
Judicial Nominating Commission," Yas said.

Let me put it this way; Would Romney nominate, Hillary, Holder, or Van Jones to the court?
Can you promise me Obama would not?
Romney appointed liberals to the bench as governor of Massechussettes, so it is not clear what point (if any) you could possibly try to make here, and he is still pro abortion as well as pro homosexual so he isn’t really a possibility anyway.
Perhapse you should try selling socislist Mitt Romneycare on a site where people haven’t followed his actions for over a decade.
My vote is NOT a protest. It is an endorsement and support of someone who represents my values. I have been pledged to neither party and in consideration, I see no assurance that Romney would make any different choices for the courts than Caligula would.
Death by cancer or death by a bullet? Ain’t much of a choice.
If Ubama appoints one more radical, we are done.
Then you’ll casting a vote for Obama....smart move.
Willard is no fan of the constitution. The joke here is Willard has a history of appointing liberal judges not conservative.. Soooo the choice is liberal or really really liberal. Either way the constitution is dead.
Wow you are delusional
Anyway, I have yet to hear Romney ask for social conservative votes, in fact he says he does not have to, that we will vote for him. At least Obama has enough respect for his voters to ask for their votes. Romney has yet to go to a single social con event Romney is calculated and arrogant. He’ assumes so con will cave. He's assuming too much.
Romneys accomplishments.
1. Implemented/created Gay Marriage in MA
2. Supported and forced Gay Adoption in MA
3. Supported Abortion wholeheartedly
4. Raised taxes/fees over 300% while being Governor of MA
5. Implemented a state-level Cap and Trade system.
6. Supported Man-Made Global Warming
7. Supported the Brady Bill
8. Implemented a state level Assault Weapons Ban after the Federal AWB was allowed to expire.
9. Supported TARP
10. Supported Amnesty for Illegal Aliens (Citizenship for those already here)
11. Supported McCain-Kennedy (Amnesty)

13. Nominated 27 Democrats (out of 36 nominations) for judgeships in MA, many of them extreme left-wingers

Ok your vote is you showing sypport for someone , who you know can not win
which would you rather have another wise latina or another roberts?
you can pretend you think romney’s candidaes would be no different than 0dumbo but you know you would be wrong
You actually think Romney will elect anybody better?! BWAHASHAHAHAHAHAH
He’s a socialist dink just like Obie, they’ll nominate people of the same idiotic socialist mindset. and anybody that thinks otherwise is dumber than either of them.
Here’s the REAL facts:
They’re both socialist scumbags who have no freaking clue
Which ever one you elect will continue to grow the budget and the power of the fed
The only thing at question here is 4 or 8 more years
No, the need is here, where some members of the Fool Wing of the Conservative Movement will complain endlessly about Romney.. and help elect Obama in the process.
Unlike Obama, Romney is not an activist. He can be manipulated if we are willing to be the ones to shake his Etch-a-Sketch. Not ideal but that is our realistic option now. No one is riding in on a white horse to save us. We need to manipulate the situation the best we can.
I think it is fair to say that we all can work together to ensure a Conservative Senate, which would block any liberal nominees to the SC (by either obummer or Romney, no matter who gets the win)... But trying to get a Conservative to vote for one such as Romney is a non-starter. Especially using fear tactics such as these.
Mitt Romney wins much coveted Jimmy Carter endorsement
Gore Praises Romney's 'Climate Protection Plan'

"It's a feel-good story, this Romney thing.

"To come up with a bipartisan plan in this polarized environment is commendable."
