“I saw Florida backstage and she was very, very flustered and upset. I thought it might be because she didn’t make the top 15 cut, but at that point she was able to reveal to me at least four of the five names who went on to be the top girls,” the contestant, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told FOXNews.com exclusively. “She couldn’t remember the fifth because she was so upset. Several of the girls then started hearing through the grapevine about a list; a lot of people were upset.”

“Apparently the morning of June 3rd [Brez] saw a folder lying open to a page that said 'FINAL SHOW Telecast, June 3, 2012' and she saw the places for Top 5 already filled in,” Monnin wrote on her Facebook page. “After the Top 16 were called and we were standing backstage she hesitantly said to me and another contestant that she knew who the Top 5 were. I said 'who do you think they will be?' She said that she didn't 'think' she 'knew' because she saw the list that morning. She relayed whose names were on the list. Then we agreed to wait and see if that was indeed the Top 5 called that night. After it was indeed the Top 5 I knew the show must be rigged.”

Didn’t know that. Thanks. So it still basically comes down to talent doesn’t count, the judges votes don’t count. It’s all about popularity. We have DWTS down here in Australia. I like the dancing and all but now I just look to see who’ll win on popularity rather than skill and improvement. Sad.

I thought “The Apprentice” was rigged when Clay Aiken didn’t win but brought more money in & had a better show. Decided then that it wasn’t worth watching anymore.
A very quick and easy solution is to go to the bookies sheets in Vegas. If they show large changes in bets or odds during the contest, nuff said.
After watching Season 4 of The Apprentice where the black guy won (after Season 3 where the woman won), it seemed obvious to me that his show is rigged. Why would we expect his beauty pageant to be any different?

The story that I have heard is that In Great Britain there was a show called “Pop Idol; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pop_Idol (just like American Idol only for a Great Britain/UK audience(Simon Cowell owned this one as well)) and the last season a Scottish Girl won(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_McManus) and Simon absolutly HATED her and he folded un his “Pop Idol” tent and set out for a MUCH more Lucritive US Market. And walla “Americn Idol” was “born”.

Wait, people actually think pageants actually work the way they look on TV? Come one people think, it’s a judged competition with no known or published point system and a bunch of info flowing from the contestants to the judges before the pageant. Yes most of the time the final 5 and probably even the winner are known long before cameras start to roll. And no that doesn’t make it fixed, you have to be a sport to be fixed, it’s a pageant, it’s a cheap excuse to flaunt pretty women.
so what does it matter?...probably not much...
except for that rigging, there's a price to be paid in loyalty and servitude to TPTB.....
On what basis? Contractual limitation on what she could say? But contracts are two-sided things. If the game was rigged, the other side may have breached first, releasing her from her side of the contract, in part or in full, depending on how its written.
Ignore my previous post. The cause of action appears to be defamation, not contract. That would also seem to be an empty threat. Truth is an absolute defense, and a “tie” (ambiguity about what the truth is) usually goes to free speech, especially when dealing with public entities. Defamation suits are notoriously difficult to win. IMHO, they’re probably just trying to bully her.
What a jerky thing to say. I guess you don’t have any idea how many years it takes to get to the point where you are on the Miss USA Stage. These women start young, local pagaents, travelling, Having strangers judge them, every flaw. The disciple and the education, leaning grace and poise..Something sorely lacking in this world. These women are incredibly hard workers and highly competitive and for you to doubt that says more about you and your thoughts about women than anything else. Shame on you.
