A Texas father beat a man to death after catching him molesting his four-year-old daughter in a horse barn, The Houston Chronicle reports. The incident happened Saturday evening near Shiner, Texas.

Stopping a crime in progress by lethal force is not the same as avenging said crime after the fact.
Vocabulary fail: no soup for you.

This isn't Sanford, Florida, where they have a crazy psycho women's libber RINO prosecutor. Child molesters are sad everywhere. Even if the Father gets sent to prison, the prisoners will have the highest respect for him.

I believe we have a legal defense here in the Great State of Texas....based on the theory the “he deserved killin!” This definately applies. I predict a no-bill or a not guilty verdict unless the father is white and the perp is black in which case the fake-Revs will descend on Texas and bring the Twayna circus to town - then who knows. I’ll bet the perp will be “undocumented” given the locale of the crime however.

Not especially easy to beat a man to death with your fists. Dad must have either known how to throw a punch (training? natural athlete?), hit him in a vulnerable area (larynx? temple?), used a rock or a stick, or got him on the ground an kicked the stuffing out of him (abdomen-->ruptured liver? head-->bleed?).
The guy could have also had a heart attack out of fear...be interesting to see what the coroner says...at any rate, not guilty.

She was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
A lamentable miscarriage of justice. Hope she is doing ok.

“Since when is stopping a crime in progress vigilantism!?!”
It’s not, by itself, wrong, when the crime is in progress.
The big key here is to be sorry that the offender ultimately died from the fight, and move on.
However, holding grudges and continuing to hate the person after the act is being unforgiving,

I would have done the same thing, if a firearm wouldn’t have been within easy reach. I predict jury nullification in this case. The DA is probably scared to death of taking this thing to court. I’m sure there will be some very generous deals offered to the defense.

The crime was in progress == self defense/protection. The fact he died is an unintended consequence of stopping the threat.

A lamentable miscarriage of justice. Hope she is doing ok. Actually, she's dead now. RIP, Josie. Her daughter was in her twenties, and an avowed Lesbian when her Mom got out of prison.

In a way it’s a shame, because it would be fun to see a jury acquit him and then deliver a standing ovation from the box.

If there is any moral center to this nation at all, the jury will acquit this guy, he did what EVERY DECENT PERSON SHOULD DO IN THE SAME SITUATION!!!
I would never convict this guy, no matter the evidence, this is a perfect example of why the court has Jury’s.
