In Timbuktu, Harsh Change Under Islamists

BAMAKO, Mali — Isolated for centuries by the harsh desert that surrounds it, Timbuktu now finds itself even more cut off from the rest of the world.

Rebels who captured the city in northern Mali in April have imposed a form of hard-edged Islamic rule, prompting many residents to flee in fear and changing the face of what had been a tolerant and easygoing destination that drew tourists from around the world.

“There is no liberty,” said Abdoulaye Ahmed, a tailor who fled Timbuktu and came to Mali’s capital last week. He added that the Islamist rebels “are constantly circulating with their guns. This is scaring people. The town is sinister.”

The situation is said to be especially troubling for women in Timbuktu. “Women are living in terrible fear,” said Baba Aicha Kalil, a well-known civic activist who is still living in the town, which once had a population of more than 50,000 but has experienced a significant exodus since the rebels moved in.

“They want to put a veil on everything,” Mrs. Kalil said, reached over a crackly telephone line from Timbuktu, which is about 440 miles northeast of Bamako, at the edge of the Sahara. “They are everywhere, everywhere with their guns.”

What is wrong with these people?

It’s a well established fact on planet Earth in the 21st century that Islam is a Religion of Peace. These people need to understand what the rest of the planet does. When Muslims come to your area, you simply do whatever they want so as not to offend them. That way everything is wonderful and stands together embracing the peace of Islam.

Personally I think these people are just islamophobic haters. Why can’t they just coexist? We know it works here in America and since the Brits embraced Islam, look how well things are there.

I just don’t understand people today...

Women are now forced to wear full, face-covering veils. Music is banned from the radio. Cigarettes are snatched from the mouths of pedestrians. And the look of the ancient mud-brick town is changing. A centuries-old monument, the shrine of a 15th-century saint, has been defaced; bars have been demolished; and black flags have been hung around town to honor Ansar Dine, or Defenders of the Faith, the radical Islamist movement that emerged from the desert and turned life upside down.

Much like Egypt where tourism has dried up, expect the same to happen here.

But not to worry, Mali, he who has a special affinity for this eeeevil, barbaric, misogynistic, cult-cum-religion (Barack Hussein Obama: "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction:") will see to it that Billions in foreign aid will begin to flow your way in the near future.

Do NOT discount the very real possibility, based upon the degree of "Stealth/Civilization Jihad" which has succeeded in permeating and infiltrating EVERY major Government Agency (including the DHS, FBI, DOJ, DOD, etc.) and the amount of influence these Islamists now exert over policy which is intended to replace our Constitution with Sharia.

Be afraid...be VERY afraid!!!

Though we are all aware of Obama's proclivity towards appeasing Islam and Islamic Republics; his negotiating with our enemies (Taliban); his release of captured Terrorists; his support of the "Arab Spring" in the ME which has led to the takeover of those countries by Radical Islamists; etc, many are not aware of what he has done to facilitate their (Islamists) acceptance and appointment to positions of "trust" within our own Government

Islam is a frontal attack on Christianity and Judaism and its time we understood this threat and called it what it is. We are not in a “war on terror”, which so many politically correct politicians would have us believe.

The whole world is, and has been for 1,400 years, in a WAR AGAINST ISLAM! If we do not stand up against this cancerous enemy, whose ultimate goal is to bring the entire world into submission to Islam and have all people worship none but Allah, then Western Civilization and human freedom as we know it will soon cease to exist.
