As the counterweight to a presidential nominee blessed with wealth and privilege, Jindals stirring life story as the child of Indian immigrants -- who bestowed upon himself at the age of 4 the all-American name of the youngest son in The Brady Bunch -- could be especially appealing.
A Rhodes scholar who helmed the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals -- the states largest agency -- at the almost absurd age of 24, Piyush Bobby Jindals aptitude and credentials for the nations second-highest office would be difficult for anyone to question seriously.
Like Jindal, Romney was an academic overachiever who may never have been the life of the party but was the kind of kid that moms hoped their daughters would bring home one day, and the two men are similar in mind-set and temperament.
Though he does not share Romneys decades of business experience, Jindal did have a brief post-collegiate stint working as a business consultant at McKinsey & Company before entering politics, and he shares the Bain Capital co-founders hyper-analytical approach to governing.
Unlike Romney, who faced likely defeat in Massachusetts had he chosen to run for a second term, Jindal has remained overwhelmingly popular in his home state. In October of last year, he was re-elected with a whopping 66 percent of the vote in Louisianas nonpartisan blanket primary system.

Let Bobby grow and be tempered in his office as governor- plenty of time. He’s good now, he’ll be absolutely great one day.
This is an interesting prospect. His only liability was his disastrous speech in 2009, but I think he could overcome it.
Not NBC. Not gonna happen.
Flamesuit on.
For all the talk about his 09 speech, I never saw it. I guess that’s a good thing.
Not eligible.
The media will rip him apart. We need to do away with the government media... really I am sick of them
He was born on US soil to two non US citizens that later became US citizens.....
If the GOP goes with Rubio or Jindal we forever give up the NBC part of our Constitution
“If the GOP goes with Rubio or Jindal we forever give up the NBC part of our Constitution”
Based on the definition you hold in mind, it is already gone.
Obama is the recent precedent, plus possibly others in the past.
Perfect for enabling the GOP Elite to provide ongoing cover for Obama’s lack of Natural Born Citizenship status.
Jindal and Rubio, both have to be high on Romney’s list for VP, since neither Jinda nor Rubio had parents who were American Citizens at the time of Jindal’s or Rubio’s birth, neither of them can possibly be Natural Born Citizens. (No matter how much some might like their politics.)
After all, the precedent has now been set with Obama, so no time can be wasted by the GOP-E in sealing the deal. Gotta get on with that New World Order, don’t you know...
Already too late. Ironically, the only chance we have of getting it back is by nominating a non-NBC of our own. That would result in bilateral action to prevent further occurrences. Otherwise, the Democrats will go on violating it at will.
VP: Gov. McDonnell of Va
You can bet your life on it!
I'd like Perry or Newt or Santorum. I guess Santorum is the most likely choice....bur Newt has wisdom. Perry has it all.
Question:
It’s my understanding that Jindal is not qualified as a natural born citizen to be POTUS. How in the world can he run as a VP?
Or, are we just ignoring the Constitution the way the Democrats are?
I think he actually needs his own version of Cheney or even Biden, an “old washington hand” type.
Romney’s got ZERO DC experience. And while that may be, in and of itself, a good thing, taking 6 months to learn where the bathrooms are, as they say, won’t be.
So, no to Jindal on this count only. Otherwise I’d say “YES” because I think the Indian community is already very attuned to republican party values.
That is the birther interpretation. The one every court rejects and virtually no one but a fringe bunch of conspiracy theorists take seriously.
In the actual real world, both Rubio and Jindal were born in the United States and are eligible to be VP or President. Rubio is still the favorite in my opinion and is very likely to be the VP nominee.
“In the actual real world, both Rubio and Jindal were born in the United States and are eligible to be VP or President. “
WRONG.
There is clear legal precedent requiring citizen parents for NBC.
His own version of Cheney would be Newt...it’s called wisdom.
I don't care if he's the best thing since sliced apple pie, has all the answers to save the USA, the world, is the direct descendent of Jesus Christ and George Washington, Jindal is not a NBC. Never was, never will be.
People have got to be educated about this. People have got to stop considering Jindal for anything more than he is.
Consider Jindal, then the present muslim just might as well stay in office.
