In a memo to members today, SEIU Local 1000 President Yvonne Walker said that she was consulted about Gov. Jerry Brown's plan to cut state employees' pay and that she drew a line at imposing unpaid time off on workers.
"First let me say that I have made it clear that furloughs are not on the table," Walker wrote.

Who needs government when we have government unions?
How about layoffs then?
I am so happy to be out of the California implosion.
The level of disrespect for the office by this bitch. You come into the executives office and tell him what is or is not on the table?
If Brown had any balls he would have have tore her a new one for that comment (of course, Brown is a coward). I don’t care if the Pope himself came in to make the comment, if I were Governor and someone dared say that they would find themselves escorted out by security in handcuffs and all future access permanently revoked.
They can’t cut the state workers time too much. Who would enforce the tens of thousands of regulations against us producers?
Those union goons cannot believe reality. FIRE THIER ASSES!
Sounds like the inmates are running the prison. No surprise.
Not to brag or anything, but Wisconsin is doing a FINE job of getting rid of the Unionistas under the guidance of Governor Walker. Recall? Bring it! We’re ready. More people turned out to vote FOR Governor Walker in a BOGUS Primary than actually voted for him the FIRST time around. That’s AWESOME! :)
And even if we DO get a LibTard Governor, we OWN the House and Senate. Nothing will change and we will have at least slowed the march off the cliff...
I HATE posts that pit one state against the others...mark my words; there WILL be some dopes showing up here saying, ‘California Taxpayers GET what they DESERVE.’
I don’t feel that way. We are ALL in this together - and it’s the STATES against the FEDS as far as I’m concerned, the B@stards!
California voters get what they deserve. Absolutely.
Oh, I am one. I have lost every vote in California for a decade or more. The California electorate is a collective imbecile. No, a collective lobotomy.
Indeed we absolutely have what we deserve in California. If the California voters didn’t have our heads up our asses, there would have been a huge outcry at the very suggestion of a $100 Billion bullet-train boondoggle and an even bigger riot against the AB32 Cap and Trade law signed by Arnold.
No, make no mistake whatsoever, the California voters are getting exactly what we deserve.
I can’t wait to leave this stinking rotten flaming communist pestulant cesspool from hell. A pox on California AND her voters. The 8.0 San Francisco megaquake can’t come too soon for me.
I have made it clear that furloughs are not on the table
LOL!!!
Watching them squirm dealing with problems that they created is really making my day. In the end nothing will be resolved and the can will be kicked further down the road until the last business and taxpayer leaves the state. Then what?
Brown can do whatever he wants to do as long as banks accept California’s checks.
What else do you think government is, but a big thieving do-nothing union?
Never get tired of seeing that cartoon. I think I will go post in on Facebook again.
To use a titanic analogy...
Iceberg?? FULL SPEED AHEAD!!!!!
Hate to say it...as I'm a born and bred SoCal....ex-surfer, ex-worker, ex-tax-payer, and have friends and family there still.
“Furloughs are off the table” - Nonononono......furloughs are out of the trough.
So she thinks.
Brown won’t go for it, and even the Demwit legislature won’t push for *another* tax increase.
Thanks SmithL.

I'm from California. I started to see the light around the early 2000s, and it just kept on getting brighter and brighter as the years passed.
By 2004, we'd had another baby, and had grown too large to fit our home sweet house. Wife and I looked for something suitable in our area, and we found it, but at a price tag of just under $700K. I could have pulled the trigger, but my better judgement took over, and I stayed my hand. If I'd taken that plunge, we could have never again had a bad month in business - and that was unrealistic.
After selling the old house, we leased nearby for a year to get our bearings and find a less expensive option, but none were to be had. In time, friends suggested that I at least consider the idea of moving the family and my business to Texas. At their behest, the wife and I came down for a look, and were surprised and delighted at what we found.
Within months, we had bought a new house in the DFW area, and were on our way. The relocation wasn't without its ups and downs, but on balance, it's one of the best choices I ever made in this life.
