KABUL, Afghanistan -
It was a scene from a spy novel.
This is what Im trying to figure out.... Im fixing to explode!
OK, so he greeting the soldiers personally.
Anyone know why the soldiers were not invited to the speech?
The mental picture of “oBozo” dropping his pants, has ruined the rest of my life. I'm looking for the hemlock poison now.
I guess this answers John Kerry's question, "How do you ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake? Obama just did.
Why can’t he buy a pair of pants that fit? Always looks like he’s wearing bloomers.
“Why cant he buy a pair of pants that fit? Always looks like hes wearing bloomers.”
PLEASE, no more mental pictures - I’m trying to get over the “dropping pants” thing and now you have added “bloomers”. I must find that hemlock poison to end these mental pictures.
Im going to have the opportunity to address the nation from Bagram just in a little bit, and its going to be broadcast back home during primetime, the president said. So all I want to do is just say thank you.
Obama announced the Strategic Partnership Agreement he signed with Afghan President Hamid Karzai to turn over responsibility for the nations security, but did not mince words about the road ahead, as POLITICO's Jennifer Epstein reported.
I want you to understand, I know it's still tough, Obama said. I know the battle is not yet over. Some of your buddies are going to get injured, and some of your buddies may get killed. And theres going to be heartbreak and pain and difficulty ahead. But theres a light on the horizon because of the sacrifices youve made. Obama said the gains in Afghanistan and the killing of Osama bin Laden were thanks to the efforts of the servicemembers there.
Each and every one of you -- without a lot of fanfare, without a lot of fuss -- you did your jobs, he said. No matter how small or how big, you were faithful to the oath that you took to protect this nation.
The president also said he and first lady Michelle Obama are looking after the families of the troops while theyre away, and promised not to forget the debt owed to those who fight.
We are going to be there for you when youre in uniform and we will stay there for you when youre out of uniform, Obama said. Because youve earned it; you earned a special place in our hearts. And I could not be prouder to be your Commander-in-Chief.
God bless you, and God bless the United States of America. Now I want to shake some hands.
He gave his remarks at 1:21 a.m. local time on May 2, then visited a hospital on base and handed out 10 Purple Hearts before delivering his prime time address.

**US Soldiers Not Invited**
Huh?
Oh, they might not come....yeah, but they have to follow orders if they are told to show up, right?
Has anyone noticed that only the trucks cast shadows?
LOL. Good thing, I know you're not serious!
The speech "to the nation" was given at 4 AM local Bagram time. I'm not certain why, perhaps the late hour, but he apparently just spoke to a camera.
He made some earlier brief remarks to some troops and shook hands with some of them, how many I don't know. That took place around 1:30 Bagram time, IIRC.
a. Where was Karzei?
b. What happened to 0’s ears. They looked “pinned back.”
