FBI sting operation nabs 5 in Ohio bomb plot

Five "self-proclaimed anarchists" have been arrested after a months-long sting operation, charged with plotting to blow up a bridge in the Cleveland area, the FBI announced today.

CBS News senior correspondent John Miller reports the group had been involved in a series of escalating plots that ended with their arrest last night by FBI agents.

The sting operation supplied the anarchists with what they thought were "explosives" and bomb-making materials.

At no time during the case was the public in danger, the FBI said.

More and more, I get the feeling that these reports are bogus. What better way could there be to let us know what a great job the government is doing for us.

Yet, for all the groups of "Five 'self-proclaimed anarchists'" looking to blow up a bridge once would think that some percentage of them would be sufficiently smart enough to avoid FBI detection to at least make an attempt on a bridge, or whatever. But none has so far as I know.

Consider Israel, with its probably just as smart security forces. There, the security guys foil some attackers but not all.

Definitely an "Occupy" link. The oldest, Anthony Hayne, was an organizer for Occupy Cleveland.

Also, if you google, his name and "Occupy Cleveland", it confirms that the "Occupy Cleveland" Hayne is 35 -- the same age as the guy busted in this story.

Hmmmm. Have to think about calling the local talk show today and pointing that out so it gets some press....

More details emerged this morning from the arrests. 5 white males ages 12 thru 14 were booked for possession of firecrackers near a bridge. Eric Withholder and Big Sis said the FBI is on the job full time busting those DOMESTIC TERRORISTS.

I don't think you understand. I wouldn't like wild elephants to to stampede on the sidewalks I walk on either. But I would just be a little suspicious of folks at the Department of the Interior telling me that they had retrained some elephants from time to time.

Close to home for me as well, and these were definitely “Occupy” types. At least one belonged to the “Occupy Cleveland” Facebook group.

Now they are “Occupy Florence ADX”.
