Earlier this past week you may have heard on Glenn Beck’s radio show Michelle Bachman recounted a story that last Sunday (April 22nd) she was in Afghanistan and stood over a young man who had just lost his left leg in an IED attack.
Let me tell you the rest of the story, that young man had to be PFC. Justin Lansford, (22 years old) whose vehicle was hit by a IED earlier that day. Justin is a close and personal friend of my family, having known him since he was about 14 years old.
He steady dated my daughter through High School and went to all the proms and dances with her. He was an accomplished High School athlete (football) for Brookwood High School here in Georgia. She was his sponsor at his Confirmation. We have been blessed to know him.
As writing this, Justin is fighting for his life at a hospital in Germany. He lost his left leg just above the knee, his spleen was removed, lacerated liver, multiple broken ribs, two fractured femurs, punctured lung and fractured spine. With all that, he still is a fighter and refuses to succumb.
This past Friday, he was to be transferred to Walter Reed but unfortunately has developed A.R.D.S and pneumonia. He remains in a medically induced coma in Germany where doctors now have requested his parents come. They are now there as of this past Saturday.
He is now in the hands of the doctors and God.

Still stand believing with you for The God of Mercy and Comfort to bring Justin triumphantly into His victory. This is where we trust in His love and goodness. Thanks for the updates.
I guess the air compression during the flight was the cause, and thankful that they could help control it until he landed. He is now in good hands at Bethesda. Time for two more steps forward!

Do we have any recent updates on this hero?
He's still fighting, his parents are exhausted but constantly at his side.....They are staying at the Fischer house next to the Hospital.
On of his requests was that Megan Kelly (Fox News) send him an autograph picture, we made the request to FOX and within 24 hours Megan Kelly called both my daughter and Justin. A personalized autographed picture plus some Fox stuff was delivered to him within 48 hours.....
Justin has a great outlook though, I spoke to him briefly the other day during one of the times he was fully conscious...Each year at Halloween I put up a huge pirate display in the yard and we all dress like pirates, Justin told me that this year he was going to be there and he would be a better pirate than me because he would have a real “peg” leg! LOL.....
The doctors are still very concerned due to the severe complications.....we have hope and prayer and he is a true fighter....
Please continue to pray for him....

Good News update....although Justin still has several surgeries ahead, overall his health has improved dramatically and very raoidly....
All infections are under control, he’s eating normally and in a regular room......
He even had a light workout in the gym....
Prayers are answered....
