Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich told The Daily Caller in a video interview that he is dropping out of the Republican presidential race 'probably about Wednesday' May 2 and endorsing former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.
Gingrich, alongside his wife Callista, said the GOP's message in the general election should be, "Can you afford four more years like this? Not complicated. Do you want this much unemployment, this high a gasoline price, this much deficit spending? You have a great president but if you don't want this, you better vote for somebody new."

I don't know about the NBC stuff, but I suspect that if true, the Dems/Marxists are well prepared to run with such an issue.
I’m not voting for Romney in the California primary. Will either go Santorum or Newt. The message has to be that our (culturally conservative & non-RINO) ideas should be included in the platform and articulated clearly.
I’ll swallow my pride and vote for Romney in the general, but won’t exactly be motivated to do any volunteer work like I always do.
Romney has yet to stand up for conservative ideas, because he doesn’t believe in half of them.
It certainly does make sense:

Both Romney and Gingrich have connections to the environmentalists.
An uprising by voters must get both Romney and Gingrich to be responsive to rural, private property and Federal land issues. Whoever wins, they must be stopped from putting environmentalist activists into positions of power.
See the Quote below how the environmentalists boasting about the importance of these appointments to them from the bio for Douglas Foy who was appointed by Romney to an influential position when he was governor of MA:
Doug Foy BS, Princeton University; JD, Harvard University As a super-secretary in Governor Mitt Romney’s cabinet, Doug oversaw transportation, housing, environment, and energy agencies, with combined annual capital budgets of $5 billion, and a total workforce exceeding 11,000. This unique position enabled him to put into practice many of the policies he developed over twenty-five years as head of the Conservation Law Foundation, New Englands premier environmental advocacy organization. Widely acknowledged as a leading environmentalist, Doug received the Presidents Environmental and Conservation Challenge Award, the countrys highest conservation award, the Woodrow Wilson Award for Public Service and an honorary “Officer of the Order of the British Empire”.

“Elections are about choices.”
Yup, and when I stand before God I have to account to HIM and HIM only about the choices I made and PROCLAIMED.
He is quite explicit about us not warning people of sin, in case you didn’t know, if you don’t warn someone that what they are doing is wrong in God’s eyes, you are held as an accomplice.
I will write in who I choose.
I am with you, Johnny. I am not voting for Romney. No way.
Nope. Not gonna do it.
Figures.
Working on it... pray.
Some of them are trying and Ron Paul’s people are doing what you’re suggesting in a very organized fashion. Ron Paul had 50 delegates on the ballots in PA where it’s a direct election, but only 5 got voted in out of 59 slots. The GOP party hacks are there at the polls telling the voters which are the “approved” delegates. And the voters have no spirit of rebellion, or they would be voting AGAINST those approved delegates. I don’t see how you change the voters’ minds without a ton of money to spend on advertising, unless some genius has a low-cost marketing plan.
Your selective memory is showing.
“But if Romney is elected, we can’t turn things around until 2020. We would be far better off turning them around in 2016 by electing a conservative.”
You’re wrong. If Romney loses the election, the republican party will move even further to the left in 2016.
Four years ago many folks also said that it would be better if McCain lost as it would give conservatives a chance to “turn things around” this year. How did that work out?
Both parties move to the center when they lose. Your strategy ignores this basic historical fact.
The best hope for conservatives is that Romney picks a conservative VP who becomes influential in the administration and then succeeds him as president.
I guess I’m too dumb to understand how someone can call Lenin II a “great president.”
All the demons in Hell WILL vote for him, he has enough votes there. NO Christian ever would pull a lever for a same sex marriage initiator and pro baby killer - that’s like voting for satan himself.
This is a test to see if one claims Christianity or one is legitimately/faithfully one. This is akin to see who would take the mark out of fear.
Of course, it WILL NEVER happen now. They gave away ANY power they were entitled to with Our Constitution. They didn't vote and support the only WeThePeople President - now it is gone FOREVER.
They didn't want WeThePeople when they could vote for it - but with Mitt they are hoping WeThePeople can do something. What kind of morons are we dealing with here?
So how do all the Gingrich loyalists like him turning out to be a RINO, commie, turncoat, traitor?
Sarah will endorse Mitt, that will be a thread to end all threads.
And when she does she will be accused of being a RINO, commie, sell out, traitor.
Amen. Spot on. Sad it has to be this way, but that’s the way it is and we need to make it happen as opposed to doing anything, IMHO, to enable Obama another four years to completely flush this Republic.
John Kerry lost in 2004. The “D” party didn’t move to the center in 2008. Ford lost in 1976. The “R” party didn’t move to the center in 1980. So I don’t see any basis for your rule.
I’m saying we need to have a better plan leading up to 2016, not just a “wait and see what happens” posture.
Romney won’t pick a conservative V.P. if he’s doing well in the polls and everyone everywhere says they’re going to vote for him no matter what. You need to understand how to extract some leverage. It doesn’t happen when you make things easy for Romney and give him a guaranteed vote. He needs to see there are a bunch of people like me in the base who are not prepared to vote for him if he’s going to offer the base anything new.
You actually believed Newt when he said he was going to fight?
Why?
