Mexican authorities have recovered around 68,000 guns that traced back to the United States in the past five years, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) said on Thursday.
Since 2007, trace data shows a trend in recovered and submitted crime guns from Mexico shifting from pistols and revolvers to rifles, the ATF said in a statement.
The agency added that reports from officials in Mexico show certain types of rifles, such as the AK and AR variants with detachable magazines, are used more frequently to commit violent crime by drug trafficking organizations.
The ATF said it was able to trace back 68,000 of more than 99,000 guns that were submitted by Mexican authorities.
Mexican officials in the past have complained that drug cartels often wind up with U.S.-sourced guns in their bloody wars against each other and the army.

At least 47,000 people have been killed in the conflict since President Felipe Calderon directed the army to act against cartels in 2006.
Yeah. Just like the clintons.
Oh, wait!
“I think our founding fathers would be fighting a war of Independence. They’d be demanding their God given right to be free.”
Demand all you want. The Founders ACTED on their demands. Who is gonna do that today? Name somebody.
I’m hoping the family of Brian Terry is able to get justice - including for the truth of Fast & Furious to be out there as all these folks are FORCED to stand before a jury and judge, including Eric Holder and all his goons who have obstructed justice on this issue. There’s a civil lawsuit and I doubt the family will settle out of court for money; I think their goal is to get the truth out there and get rid of these thugs so this doesn’t happen again.
The difference being that many of these 68,000 guns were undoubtedly supplied by the 0bama administration specifically to take our guns away from us. Among other criminal objectives.
I can go to a gun shop this afternoon and come home with a handgun the same day without filling out any permits etc. ahead of time. I can go to Walmart and buy as much ammunition as I want without any permits etc. Can any Canadian say the same?

Of course, it's not there.
They do not WANT any "journalistic integrity".
Before this election season is over, they will start printing PROVABLE LIES, and refusing to retract -- instead, they will repeat and amplify the lies.
That's the elephant in the room...

When I was serving, lo these many years ago, M-1 carbines and mortars of 60 and 81mm cailbers were commonly used in covert operations by US and indigenous troops because, while obviously of US manufacture, were in such widespread use the world over, it was impossible to trace where a given weapon had come from.
Additionally, at a gun show (horrors!) I saw a Mauser K98 rifle of WWll vintage, WaffenArmpt stamps and all, that had been captured in Vietnam in 1971.
Thanks for the links.
You’re welcome.
They can't follow their own rules (SS), they make up their own illegal operations (Fast and Furious) and cannot be relied upon to tell the truth.
All sold by the Feds.
The NRA has debunked this urban myth repeatedly. This is nothing but pure Joseph Goebell’s style liberal fascist propaganda.
Open the flood gates to Fast and Furious documents now secreted by Holder. One hears the shredding machines operating at full capacity at the fed DOJ.
Ever try to get a bunch of guns into Canada?>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
