2 dead, 7 wounded in separate South and West Side shootings

Nine people were shot Saturday night and Sunday morning on the city's South and West sides, according to police. Two died.

A 23-year-old was killed on the 1300 block of South Springfield Avenue about 1:40 a.m., police said.

A 19-year-old man was shot on the 1000 block of North Waller Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood about 2:50 a.m.

Three women were shot on the 13200 block of South Vernon Street about 10:25 p.m., police said. They were standing with a group of people at a party when a man who was denied entry came back with a gun and started shooting, police said.

A 25-year-old man was shot in the groin on the 6600 block of South Paulina Street.

At 9:16 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was shot in the face near 63rd and Carpenter streets in Englewood, according to authorities. He was standing on a porch when he heard shots and felt pain, police said.

A man, 43, was shot in the arm in the 6400 block of South Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive about 8:20 p.m. He was riding his bike when he was shot, police said.

I simply do not understand those who insist Mr. Martin had no choice but to respond violently to Mr. Zimmerman paying attention to him.

There is too much carnage in places like Detroit and Chicago due to ultimately trivial offensives being taken as mortal threats.

Those who justify the violence by Mr. Martin, condone all the senseless violence in our cities.

According to the useless, pandering Chicago police chief/political hack McCarthy, black on black shootings are Sara Palin’s fault. According to Rahm Emmanuel, the shootings are former Mayor Daley's fault. Nearly all these shootings are on the city's South Side, the Obamas’ stamping grounds. Several weeks back, Michelle said she was raising her daughters with “South Side values.”
