Unless hes being misquoted and theres no reason to believe he is based on his track record when it comes to the Governor, Ailes isnt even publicly hiding it anymore:
Roger Ailes says Sarah Palin had no chance to be President.
Ailes, on Sarah Palin: Anyone think she had a chance to be president? Says she, others are picked solely for ratings.
Its tough to conclude from these public assertions from Ailes that he has any respect for Governor Palin. From my vantage point, the Governor appeared to be alluding to Ailes and his news network at times in her interview with Levin yesterday.

That was also said about Sarah before she ran for mayor. And governor.
She has a contract. I recall Roger was pissed when she went on Levines show to say she wasn’t running and was going to sit on her 1,000,000 contract
Well, chalk one up for Media Matters and the Obama Administration. It didn’t take them long to destroy the only half-way decent news channel we had. RIP FNC.
If Al Gore can own a TV Network - why not Newt’s conservatives (& benefactor Adelson) be encouraged to support and finance a Constitutional Cable Channel???????
It’s way past time for true capitalists to advertise their products and services on a TV channel that advocates for free enterprise, individual freedom and less Government rules & regulations.
Think FCC!!!!!!!!!!!
She had none of it, and ever since then, he's been doing everything he can to undermine her, especially after Tucson, when he and the GOP-E threw her to the wolves. She was obviously aware of his game and started thumbing her nose right back at him, albeit in a fairly low-key manner to avoid any accusations of insubordination to protect her Fox contract.
Remember that little meeting that took place about two years ago between Ailes and the administration. My sense is they cut a deal...Fox would trend to the left and the administration would not push its FCC agenda which was a threat to only FOX. Memo to Ailes: I don’t care about “fair and balanced”, this is war and we don’t need another Chamberlain.
I have given up on watching anything on FOX these days except perhaps Greta only because she does a decent interview show. It was interesting watching her argue with Rover the other night over Rosen and her comments about stay at home wives albeit I did not agree with her position that she was not as bad as being protrayed by Rover because Greta knows her personally.
Being that everything Sarah does receives instant publicity and scrutiny, I wish she’d go out and stump for Newt just a couple times. It would change the whole spectrum of the 2012 primary, and national election.
Do it for our country, Sarah!
She has a contract with them. My guess is that she has increased her appearances lately to fulfill it and then get out of there ASAP.
Sarah Palin jumped the shark when she didn’t run for the Alaska Senate in ‘10 against that (rhymes with punt). That was hers’ for the taking.
He also didn’t like her One Nation tour last summer. In fact she had to cut her Gettysburg stop way short to make a fast run to NY for a hastily called meeting with the fat bastard.
Sarah should do this, Sarah should do that. Sarah should go here, Sarah should go there. Sarah should say this, Sarah should say that.
blah blah blah!!!
Little bitter today or was it the coffee?
Ailes backtracks...sort of.
When I hired most of the Republican contributors, none of them had any immediate prospects of becoming President I wasnt referring to any of their long-term prospects, including Governor Palin. I hired all of them because they made for good television at the time. Sarah Palin is young and nobody can predict the future.
He was of course correct. Sarah did not have a chance at the nomination.
The proof is that she knew it as well and chose not to spend the time money and energy on a certain loss.
To make such a statement is not to discredit nor demean her outstanding conservative political philosophy.
If her number one priority is her family, then quit FNC and go home, period.
FYI. Palin has a studio room in her house. Many of her segments are done there. Considering the time differential (4 hours behind EST), most of her commentary is done in the afternoon when the kinds are in school or right before dinner.
It’s one thing be a commentator on Fox News, another to run for POTUS when it comes to family commitments.
Didn’t you know that you are not allowed to have an opinion. No different than saying my beloved Mets will not make the playoffs.
Boycott Fox News. It was the conservative viewer's that made their ratings soar and it is the conservative viewer that will cause their ratings to plumment. Fox is turning into another dime a dozen left wing news station.
Nature abhors a vacuum. If Fox is turning Left, then there should be an opportunity for another right-leaning news network of some type. And I don't see why it can't be located somewhere other than NYC. Heck, why does it even have to be a TV network at this point? Although I think the concept of centering a "network" around one personality is a mistake, I think Glenn Beck is onto something as far as starting a video-based Internet news channel is concerned. The Internet is becoming TV, so why not start a news station via the Internet?
Stopped watching FOX last year when their coverage started to mimic everyone else’s...
And I am soooo dissapointed in Sarah Palin; she really led me on with the bus trip etc.
I know she never said she would run, but her actions said otherwise-at least to me.
I have lost faith in her; yes, she says all the right things, but we need actions, not just words.
She took the job at FOX and that was ok,she’s got to pay the bills, but when she did the Today Show (?) or whatever show that was, I couldn’t even watch.
I don’t know who she is anymore. She’s confused me...
Sarah and Newt together would be like a dream come true; why can’t Conservatives put their egos in a drawer and work together to save our country just like all the progressives work together to destroy it?
Mrs CT Hillbilly
Success, just like familiarity breds contempt.
Regretably Ailes, FNC “personalities” and GOPe look upon “us” as peons, they being the Patrons.
Sarah knew who she was dealing with and was sharp enough to releive them of some of their money.
The Mitt bias has been so obvious on FNC that we turn on FNC a LOT less and it sounds like we are not the only ones. Fox and Ailes have made enough to likely not give a damn.
