MIAMI (CBSMiami) – George Zimmerman has been charged with second-degree murder for the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, according to the Associated Press.
Additionally, Zimmerman has been taken into custody, but it hasn’t been revealed where he is being held.
CBSMiami has confirmed that State Attorney Angela Corey, who was appointed as a special prosecutor in the case, will hold an announcement about the charges at 6 p.m. in Jacksonville.

Every way you look at this the state Florida doesn’t have squat of a case.

I think it was the citizens academy, which is more of a “and this is our jail where the bad people get locked up” sort of thing.
I predict Zimmerman is declared not guilty, Rodney King riots Part 2 begin but this time America has had enough.

Wasn’t Martin very close to the father’s girlfriend’s house. If he had been in fear, why not run home or use phone to call 911?

It might be prudent to also carry a knife or sharpened screwdriver that doesn't match anything in your home/garage.

Pretty disgusting isn’t it? And you know what the reason is? Because somebody got to get paid, usually someone who has nothing to do with the case. This is how our legal system works today. The problem with Zimmerman is he doesn’t have a big mouth like I do. If this was me I’d be holding press conferences every 12 hours. I’d ave every mugging victim from the past month with me up there on stage saying they wished they had a gun. This is why liberals win elections; Because Conservatives don’t even come close to opening their mouths as much as liberals do. Like my brother says- Becuse Conservatives are busy working unlike liberals who have all that free time from unemployment checks, welfare and food stamps.

It depends on the indictment document and Florida law. Generally manslaughter is a lesser and included offence , when intent ( mens rea) cannot be proven , but the act itself is proven.
This is a political show trial worthy of a communist state, not of the due process guranteed by the Constitution.
I doubt Zimmerman will be convicted , unless he has an incompetant defence lawyer. It will cost a LOT of money.
