The U.S. Department of Justice had no comment on the $10,000 bounty the New Black Panther Party (NBPP) was offering for a "citizen's arrest" of George Zimmerman, the 28 year old man who told Sanford, Florida Police he shot and killed 17 year old Trayvon Martin on February 26 in an act of self-defense.
According to a number of reports, the NBPP "called for the mobilization of 10,000 black men" to do the "arrest." Zimmerman and his family have received death threats since the case became a national issue. Mr. Zimmerman has not been arrested by local authorities. Federal, state, and local investigations of the shooting are happening, and he is currently in hiding.
The bounty made its ways around social media, including Twitter, and attached itself to an unfortunate tweet. One individual decided to tweet what he thought was George Zimmerman's home address. Film director Spike Lee re-tweeted the incorrect address out to his 250,000 followers. I discovered the address did not belong to Mr. Zimmerman and the actual residents were living in fear for their lives. Mr. Lee has since apologized and compensated the couple whose residence was targeted on Twitter.
In an e-mail response to an inquiry, DOJ Office of Public Affairs' Xochitl Hinojosa wrote: "The FBI is aware of the statements and we are unable to comment at this time."
Rep. Allen West, Florida Republican, posted a statement on his FaceBook page calling on the Justice Department to prosecute the NBPP for the bounty:

It appears authorities on multiple levels are focusing more on the shooting than the NBPP bounty at this point, though.

Pigford and the CBC make me suspicious that the color of his skin is far more important to him than it is to me.

If Dead or Alive bounties are no big deal perhaps it’s time to put one up for whoever started Fast and Furious.
I get your point but some people characterize statements like that as "making excuses for him."
I would literally, look down and laugh at that little bp punk if he was at my polling place.
I’d stand there and welcome white people too.
Not that I think it accomplished anymore than spitting in the wind, but I called my senator and rep to ask if either one has the “courage”, if it can be called that, to say something denouncing what amounts to a hit on a citizen. I noted that if it had been, say, the Tea Party which pulled such a stunt, the denunciations would be loud and long from both sides. I pointed out that the so-called DoJ obviously has no intention of protecting this man or prosecuting the gangster thugs who put the hit out. If US representatives are afraid to speak out about this, they are no better than members of governments who are afraid of, say, the drug cartels running a country. I know it’s not really their line of work, but as I said, they would be at the mics with the rest of the braying herd if the Tea Party had done such an outrageous thing, and we have a corrupted DoJ now.

That Eric Holder's laughable DOJ has taken no action against the NBPP is disgraceful.
Race relations have deteriorated in America since zero, et al, took control of the government in '09 and the whole Trayvon Martin episode has us on the verge of a major race war. If we break out into a race war as the result of all the lies and manipulations of the Trayvon Martin story, it will be the direct result of DBM sensionalizing the story and refusing to tell the truth, and zero's administration jumping on the racist bandwagon and increasing the tension.
IMO, we are in for an interesting summer. If we break out into race-related violence, it will justify zero calling for martial law and cancelling his coming November ballot box shellacking!

DECATUR, Ga. - A member of the New Black Panther Party who went on national television to offer a reward for the capture of George Zimmerman was arrested in Gwinnett County.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, Hashim Nzinga, 49 of Norcross, was arrested at probation office he was reporting to in Lawrenceville. He taken to Dekalb County Jail and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. A warrant was sworn out in DeKalb County after evidence surfaced that Nzinga tried to pawn a semi-automatic handgun at a Stone Mountain pawn shop.
