On Face the Nation Sunday on CBS, Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum explained that his view of the Trayvon Martin shooting differed significantly from the one held by former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
hey look! Another article posted from the same source/subject so that Santorum bashers can get him some more.
Santorum gave an OPINION, which last I checked is a free speech thing. He’s not serving on the jury, neither is he a judge, State Attorney, or Attorney General. His OPINION will have 0, ZILCH, NADA, bearing on the outcome.
I guess Rick must have also been wrong to OPINE on the Jerry Sandusky investigation since that case is still pending as well.
We are brilliant! :)
yeah, whatever. He’s still going to beat Newt in WI and MD. And all the clique-bashing in the world isn’t going to change that.
Having a reasoned opinion requires information.
Santorum doesn’t have it.
Yet he still states it as if he does.
That’s simply foolish.
And what does the Bible say about bearing false witness against others?
You are attempting to defend the indefensible.
To just dig in and justify the remarks, without critical self examination when faced with criticism, is a sign of immaturity.
He's free to have an opinion, but it will reflect badly on him if/when his opinion is found to be ill-founded.
He is perfectly within his rights to join the lynch mob against Zimmerman. And we are perfectly within our rights to think less of him for doing that. I'm not a one issue guy, and I support Santorum because of his stands on various other issues. But this has me shaking my head. Romney was always my next to last choice (last choice being Paul) for the GOP nomination. Now that Romney's about to win the GOP nomination, I don't feel so bad about voting for him in the general, since Santorum is turning out to be a real so-and-so.
>> Santorum gave an OPINION, which last I checked is a free speech thing.
Innocent until proven guilty.
Rick played into the media hysteria and condemned the alleged shooter as guilty. The Sandusky reference is bizarre.
Any politician with even half a brain wouldn’t comment on this story at all. If asked about it, they should give the typical “lets see where the evidence/facts lead” type answers, and drop it.
The more I see Santorum in action, more worried I get. He is not ready for prime time on national stage. No wonder he lost by the largest margin in a statewide election for an incumbent senator.
I would sooner vote for Donald Freaking Duck before I’d vote for that moron.
What in the hell ever happened to innocent until proven guilty??
A conservative, my butt.
This zealot, Rick Saintorum, is a disaster and a political bad joke.
That buffoon will never be the president.
There is already a thread about the foolishness of the altar boy, who’s making the Bishop look good, which is what none of us ever expected.
We are all flawed, and Mr Santorum pointing out the flaws of Mr Zimmerman, which are for all to see without the ex-Senator’s help, and which he (Zimmerman) apparently has come to know now, according to the reports from his family and friends, are no help to the tragic situation in Florida, and are only exposing the flaws of the presidential candidate, which, in my opinion, he should never have become, as his own state’s voters once tried to tell us and we refused to listen.
That about says it...
That sure helps us sort things out.... this is the kind of attitude that leads to the field we have
Who knew Santorum is psychic?
I did. His confessor told me. But don't repeat to anyone, please.
He says at the beginning that he doesn’t know what was going through the guy’s mind, but then spends the rest of the clip telling us what was going on in Zimmerman’s mind. Nothing like trying to score political points off the back of a yet to be proven guilty citizen.
I swear, I won’t say a thing.
My operating theory is that he’s in the race to suck up conservative air so Newt can’t get it and then throw the nomination to Romney.
These kind of comments reinforce my notion that Santorum wants to help Romney win.
