Republican presidential contender Sen. Rick Santorum appeared on CBS' Face the Nation this morning and pronounced George Zimmerman guilty of murder in the first degree.
Admitting that he was "not privy to whats going on in someones mind," Santorum nevertheless said that Zimmerman, who shot and killed teenager Trayvon Martin while participating in a neighborhood watch last month, "has a very sick mind who would pursue someone like this." He added that Zimmerman's motive had been "malicious."
The mental state of the alleged perpetrator, the motive, and the question of whether he pursued the alleged victim, are both critical in determining guilt. Santorum's conclusions are consistent with first-degree murder under Florida law....

Santorum spoke - stupidly.
You wish.
At the end of the day, Santorum’s popularity with the voters will STILL exceed that of Newt. So you obviously must be shilling for Romney.
My spidey sense has been right about this guy all along. I wouldn’t want a guy like him for mayor, let alone, president.
I'm surprised to see that Santorum hasn't learned that nothing you read in the media is ever very close to correct. Especially, when involves an incident where they can play the race card.
Sorry that I voted for him. It won’t happen again. I thought we were innocent till proven guilty.
Same with Newtie accusing Zimmerman of choosing a dangerous hobby.
I think both were trying to gain some political mileage with their non-equivaltent comments!!!
I've noticed Drudge keeps running the piece on the "Secret Witness" even though we all know the guy saw nothing ~ so, is it the case that the Mitbots are taking up the cudgel on behalf of the Hispanic guy, and the other folks are supporting a far more likely scenario?
Interesting that a killing like this could show the divisions among Republican voters.
What an dip$hit Santorum is. He’s afflicted with the hubris which Obama has.
What a terrible president this pompous bastard would have been. Romney has is faults but hubris is not one them. I can’t say the same for Newt. He’s pretty full of himself too.
And now, a few words from the “Not Ready for Prime Time Candidate, Rick Santorum”.. !!!
Santorum is starting to disappoint me. I was hoping he was conservative and a Romney alternative, but he too often speaks reactively, without obvious thought. Sort of finger in the wind stuff. He is playing to the camera and press and forgetting to layout reasons why he should be elected.
Gingrich has a much better grasp of what to say to explain his core views and to show how Obama is wrong for the USA. Too bad Gingrich has fallen so far in the polls. Maybe we need a brokered convention and forget primary season.
usa.
Santorum’s mind is that of a male feminist. That’s why his fans dislike Gingrich so much (not a big spender). BTW, isn’t Zimmerman getting up in the years—68 or something like that?
Well, that’s what staying around does for you.
I’ve always said that Rick Perry is the most ham-tongued, numbskull sounding, clueless speaker when someone sticks a mic in front of him and asked him to talk unscripted.
Sorry Rick, looks as if you have been dethroned. Not even on your worst day would you have stepped in this bad.
I gave up on Santorum with the really stupid Romney-is-Obama statement the other day. We already have stupid in the White House. We don’t need Stupid with White race guilt in 2013
“At the end of the day, Santorums popularity with the voters will STILL exceed that of Newt”
You are probably right but it makes no sense to me. Newt is the far better person to be POTUS.
