I think the fog of the campaign war is getting to Santorum because he said last Thursday in San Antone that there is little difference between Romney and Obama, and we might as well stick with Barack. Little my skinny white backside! Dial down, Richard. I think Santorum should have stayed down in Puerto Rico for an extra couple days of R&R to gain his composure because the disparity betwixt Mitt & B. Hussein is humongous.
Now, for the record Im not a Romney cheerleader; I voted for Newt in the Florida primary, hoping against hope that maybe, just maybe, wed get to see Gingrich dust Obama in the presidential debates. But alas, that aint going to happen.
That said, if Rick were to get the nod (which he probably wont), I would vote for him versus BHO any ol day. For that matter, if my uncle Slappy Giles, who sells moon crickets and Chattahoochee jig worms down by Harpers Swamp, were the GOPs pick, Id vote for that toothless, brainless bastard because I know he at least digs America and that for which she stands. Obama? Lets just say Im getting a different read.
Now, before the Santorumites queue up to send me their hate mail, do you really, really think theres very little difference between Romney and Obama?
Look, I get it. BHO will bash Mitt for his Romneycare hypocrisy. And I know Mitt, heretofore, changed his political mind every two years. And like the Visa Card, historically he has been everywhere you want him to be. But to say that hes the same as Obama is like saying getting kicked in the nuts by a two-year-old is the same as getting kicked in the nuts by Chuck Norris. Yes, our boys might get pummeled, but there is a huge difference in the extent and depth of pain and damage delivered by a Chuck versus a child, capice?
For instance, do you guys who buy this little difference nonsense think that Romney will bypass Congress and give Egypts bat crap crazy America/Israel-hating Muslim Brotherhood $1.5 billion for their demented military? I dont.
Also, I dont think Mitt is going to get endorsements from Hamas, various and ubiquitous communist parties at home and abroad, nor from Hollywood and their America-loathing lovelies. Nor do I believe Romney would run up our debt and destabilize our economy like BHO has purposely done.
Heres the difference, at least to me, between Mitt and Barack: Obama is a disaster with the caps lock ON. Romney, I believeand so did Santorum in 2008will be a true relief from the socialism BHOs been trying to saddle us with these last three debt-addled years. However, if it turns out that Mitt, too, should suck, I will dare to predict that what hell do in the White House will suck less than the subterranean suckiness that we are dealing with now. What do you think, Dinky?
In summation, Im in agreement with the late Andrew Breitbart, who told me last February at CPAC at the hotel bar that he is for anybody but Obama!
No, when the smoke clears, no matter who the nominee is he will be better then Obama.
Both Santorum and Gingrich are conservatives with very high ACU ratings for their time in office.
I am for Newt and will not change for anyone.. excpet Sarah!
I disagree. With a Rep. COngress Zero will accomplish nothing. ROmney, however, will be able to do a great deal of damage.
That's the question -- has anyone asked him (like that reporter who left Ted Kennedy stunned by that question)?
Maybe he has enough money to be bored with it. Maybe he just likes to be in charge. He appeals to states' right defending RomneyCare. As governor, he liked states' rights -- as president (long shot!), he'd probably prefer federal authority. He has (once that I recall) stated a preference for cities and towns deciding, rather than the states, but he didn't make an issue of it. In any case, the notion of individual liberty (at least for those who have less that $250 million) seems to be an utterly foreign concept to him.
I disagree with those who claim he's a socialist (though he's definitely a statist -- as long as he's in charge maybe). The only interest in income redistribution he's ever shown, to my knowledge, is his vaunted Bain experience (redistribute to Bain/himself) -- not the venture capital aspect, but the private equity, where apparently he looked to federal subsidies and the taxpayers picking up the tab for looted pension funds. There's probably good reason why his private equity colleagues are real unhappy with his run for president, because of the scrutiny it will bring to the area.
Of course, it's hard to say -- he lies so easily. Look at the blatant lies he told about Newt! Rush tried to defend it as always common in politics, but the examples he cited were simple name-calling, not outright barefaced lies. Look at his promise to the Log Cabin GOP to push gay marriage, his rush to enforce a court ruling that didn't have the force of law, and his two-faced rally for traditional marriage.
Some seem to think that because he's rich, a "successful businessman," he understands the economy. Would they have voted for those who ran Enron in its glory days because they "must understand the economy"?
Thanks for voting for Newt, Doug. Too bad you couldn’t be bothered to actually endorse him and campaign for him. He could have used your help in Florida and Haley Barbour’s help in Mississippi.
Romney is the latest version of what is shaping up to be a another chapter in the Republican history in the book of losers. Dole, McCain and now Romney. None of them had a chance with the exception of McCain who went off the reservation to pick Palin as VP. The media trashed Palin anyway they could because, unfettered, she was sure death to Democrats.
The Palin phobia trumpeted by the media panicked those Americans that have lost the ability to think for themselves. They can only take their news like pablum because their weak minds can’t digest anything more complex than that.
The voters will decide, Doug. Sorry you can’t accept that. It’s sad how, when a person such as yourself gets a little attention and publicity, he thinks he can decide everything for everyone.
My Gawd man, snap out of it... Newt-mania died back in... wait a minute, there was never a period of time when there actually was Newt-mania was there? Yah, Newt saves the world... uh-hu...
I love ribbing Newties... they get so, indignant...
Do you realize that this website endorsed Newt Gingrich, you dumb troll?
Actually, there was a brief period when Newt was the front-runner in the national polls with 32 percent of respondents choosing him as their first choice and Romney getting something like 20 percent.
But that was just before Florida, and the two pre-Florida debates which Newt fumbled, staring into the camera like a deer into headlights while Mitt pummeled him with charges of “influence peddling”, charges which stuck Newt not so much with a “guilty” tag as a tag labeling him “no longer the debate king”, which killed him. Which killed him dead.
I cried (metaphorically) in the days the Newtster died... but die he did. And there’s no bringing him back.
For better or worse we’re stuck with Rick as the anti-Romney, and Rick is who I’ll be voting for when this circus campaign comes to NJ.
he took LA before being “ DONE “
Oh, really... you mean this site is a campaign arm of Newt’s? You mean that when anybody gives money to support this web site, their money is being used to support Newt, kind-of like when a union member pays his dues and that dues money goes to pay for a political campaign that the union member doesn’t support? Like, like, like the teacher’s union supporting liberal democrats with teachers’ union dues but those teachers who hold a different political perspective have no say in how their dues money gets spent? Like that?
Giles sounds like a typical Newt supporter who bashes Santorum and bashes him some more instead of focusing on Romney. Then, when Romney does well, the Newt supporter, instead of backing Santorum who has the only chance of beating Romney at this point, continues to bash Santorum. After that, the Newt supporter then says, “Well, I don’t like Romney, but it’s time to start lining up behind him because it’s either him or Obama.” CNN had a Newt supporter on saying the same thing.
Honestly? There is enough decent difference from Obama to have to vote for Sketch. But he’s not going to govern as an actual conservative. We roll the dice with every first time president. But Santorum gives us at least double the chance of having a decent conservative with our values and who will remember he is there to represent us, and to appoint our kind of judges, than mitt.
Rick is always letting his mouth write a check his ass can’t cover. If he wins the nomination, I’ll vote for him, but he would be a disaster as Obama’s opponent.
