CNSNews.com) Thirty-year-old Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke, who told a House Steering and Policy Committee hearing convened by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi last month that contraception can cost a student $3,000 during law school, told CNSNews.com on Tuesday that she did not know that the Target store 3 miles from the Georgetown Law campus sells a month's supply of birth control pills for just $9.
Target advertises the $9-per-month birth control pills on its website, and CNSNews.com confirmed and reconfirmed that the $9 pills were in fact available at the Target near Georgetown Law.
Without insurance coverage, contraception can cost a woman over $3,000 during law school," Fluke testified before Pelosi's panel.
"For a lot of students who, like me, are on public interest scholarships, thats practically an entire summers salary," Fluke testified. "Forty percent of female students at Georgetown Law report struggling financially as a result of this policy.
Just last week, a married female student told me she had to stop using contraception because she couldnt afford it any longer, Fluke testified. Women employed in low-wage jobs without contraceptive coverage face the same choice. You might respond that contraception is accessible in lots of other ways. Unfortunately, that's not true.
On Tuesday, Fluke spoke at an event at the U.S. Capitol in celebration of womens history month. After the event, CNSNews.com asked Fluke: Were you aware of the Target store thats 3 miles from Georgetown Law that sells a months supply of birth control pills for $9 a month without insurance coverage? Were you aware of that?
Fluke said: So, Im not familiar with specific department store policies. I know that some generic forms of contraception are less expensive than others and that that has been widely reported. But what has not been widely reported is that many women cannot use those forms of contraception.
Women have different types of medical needs that require much more expensive forms, she said. One woman contacted me. She was very, very upset that that quote was being emphasized because she has a genetic condition that requires her to use contraception that costs $1,500.
So, this is medicine, said Fluke. Its not one-size-fits-all, and while its great that some women can access more affordable contraception, contraception needs to be accessible and affordable for all of the women who need all of the different kinds.

CNSNews.com had initially reported on Mar. 5 that the pharmacy at the Target 3 miles from the Georgetown Law campus offers a month's supply of Tri-Sprintec, the generic form of the birth-control pill Ortho Tri-Cyclen, for $9 for people without health insurance coverage for the pills.
In addition, CNSNews.com confirmed that a CVS pharmacy only two blocks from the Georgetown Law campus sells a months supply of the same generic birth control pills for $33.
Tri-Sprintec is an FDA-approved prescription drug. The Physicians Desk Reference (PDR) says it is for "prevention of pregnancy" and treatment of moderate acne in women 15 and older.
Sandra needs more studying and less fluking. Her bachelor's degree is in Sexuality. Difficult to find work with this disgrace unless you want to run or work in a sporting house. Hence she goes to law school after an apparent hiaitis as she knows that law school leads to politics which is the profession of many whores.
And this slut is gonna be a lawyer?
I wouldn’t want her to be mine.
Why does a dyke need birth control?
Apparently 40% of Georgetown women are unaware.
Nancy will invite Sandra back to well of the Senate so she can explain her new understanding and withdraw her support for the Obama mandate......
She’s not interested in women’s health. She’s interested in “reproductive rights”, government control of conscience, sticking it to the Catholic Church, and her own career as an activist.
She could not have asked for a bigger boost. Rush could not have helped her more if he had tried.
She should go shopping with Moochelle; she knows all about bargain shopping at Target. : )
Hey hold on. She’s a liberal. You now how they are with math (look what they’ve done with government spending).
She could have easily thought $9 x 12 = $3000. Hell, a bunch of liberals back in the ‘30s set up the Social Security system using about the same math. If 9 x 12 did equal 3000, grandma’s check wouldn’t be in danger.
A "boost"?? I suppose -- to her new status as a national laughing-stock.
She is what Rush said she was and it’s interesting to note that Miss Fluck has back tracked on her every utterance before Nutsy Pelousy’s trumped up conference.
Her name will be etched in shame for a long, long time.
She can afford it now, although the smell of homosexuality is really strong.
Pray for America
What else can Fluck be but a lawyer? Her undergrad degree is in sexuality. Getting her law degree will get her into the politics of whores.
Yeewwww! WalMart? Why would a LAW STUDENT go there what with all those rednecks and such. My ex-daughter in law hit the nail on the head. If they don’t have it at walmart, you didn’t need it anyway. LOL! Nice research there lawyer to be. Hope your clients (if you ever pass the bar) are prepared for your infinite wisdom. What a dope. You would be bitter too if your parents didn’t change their last name so it doesn’t rhyme with duck. Maybe she’ll get an appointment from the one since they are buddies now. But not in that way since she probably isn’t the “one” he’s looking for.
Just because Miss Fluck is homely does not mean she’s a dyke. She may look lovely with a bag over her head.
—her bachelor’s degree is in Sexuality.——
Please stop! I can’t take this anymore.
And our tax dollars paid for her worthless schooling.
Perhaps if her knees weren’t covering her ears all the time, she would hear about these things.
Shut up Fluke. You’re old news. We’ve moved on to a race case - better headlines.
LOL; you’re right.
Her name fits her to a "T".
The better part is that she got a whole bunch of women to agree with her as to cost...and even said her friend may never have children because she couldn't afford the pill.
Wonder who wrote her manuscript?? Her testimony sounded EXACTLY like Hillary.
How many of the Agenda-Driven stooges that Democrats trot out to waste TAXPAYER MONEY paying Congress to "investigate" supposed "mean rich white bastards" that won't fund their Programs?
Here's yet-another stooge (along with Hollywood celebrities who are clueless about what they are hypothesizing and giving "expert" testimony on, from everything from Foreign Affairs, to The Economy, to "Flukeing for fun").
