Just because the tea party hasnt been as noisy this election cycle doesnt mean it wont be a force come November, says Elizabeth Price Foley, author of The Tea Party: Three Principles.
When it comes to the presidential contest, I think the tea partiers will turn up in droves, she told The Daily Caller.
They arent rallying in the street anymore I think theyve been there, done that, so they appear to be quieter. But tea party chapters are still alive and vigorous, and they are just chomping at the bit to pull a lever in November.
Whats more, says Foley, is that tea partiers will ultimately rally behind whomever the GOP nominee turns out to be.
And frankly, I think many tea partiers are eager to pull the lever in favor of the Republican presidential nominee whoever that turns out to be simply because, from their perspective, that persons policies will be clearly preferable to those of President Obama, she said.
Foley is the rarest of species: a tea party academic. A law professor at Florida International University and chair in constitutional litigation for the Institute of Justice, Foley says many of her liberal colleagues didnt receive her pro-tea party book too well.

“Whats a tea party scholar and how do I become one?”
Apparently be a law professor and have liberal friends. Because that is so grassroots.
That’s right. And they are now facing, along with the general population thrown in first, the sewer themselves.
Should the installed Mandate-Mitt, not make it, watch how quickly their media pressure some how forces The Undocumented out, before the democratic primary.
For those who cite SCOTUS nominations as a rationalization, let me remind you:
Now how many of them were nominated by conservatives? And how many nominated by "moderates"?
Uh oh...now you’re gonna get it....you’ll be told you’re voting for Obama..../s
I voted for Gingrich here in Georgia. If it’s just Romney come November, I honestly don’t know if I’ll vote or not. My hope for this country has just about fully deflated it seems.
In 2008, with the money gone, they made sure to scurry back to D.C., pay each other off with, “no skin in the game.” Throwing private business and lifetime savers to the sewer of inflation. Keeping their own salaries and incomes above the effects. “No skin in the game.”
When the plan failed they went into frantic mode, making certain to pass Arbeitsziehungslager-”Care”, again making sure their “skin is not in the game” by exempting themselves. (And therefore ignoring hundreds of thousands marching on D.C.) “No skin in the game.”
Now, facing the sewer themselves, installation of the MassachusettsMandate Implementationer, exempt themselves, again with “no skin in the game.”
These Exempt Ones, living high on everyone elses expense, need a taste of “skin in the game” living, saving, working, performing. Not taking.
The installation of Massachusetts Mandate Mitt, fits right into their “no skin in the game” plans, never having to face the real meaning of the Constitution.
I’m not supporting anyone - my goal is o and Obama back to wherever the hell he came from atall costs.
no to the white version of fubo... no to the bushes 4th term.... i will not put my name to the destruction of this country by a republican...period... if the country is going down the tubes, let a D be in charge when it does
So if the Tea Party is just a group of memes as the writer contends, what’s the point?
I predict the opposite. The anti obama sentiment is running high in this country. Look at the exit polls - the numbers are very high for the economy and ABO. Most will crawl over broken glass to cast their vote against obama. I know I will.
What Tea Party is she from?
WTH is a Tea Party Scholar? It would appear she knows very little about it’s believers if she thinks that adherents are simply dying to pull a lever for someone who admits he’ll say anything to get elected.
Obama gets re-elected and nominates a liberal justice and a Rep controlled Senate can fight it.
Romney gets elected and nominates a liberal justice and a Rep controlled Senate will confirm it.
All in the name of going along with the party line.
I understand that sentiment, but truly believe Mittens will not do much (if anything) to stop the freight train to socialism.
Ms Foley, if that is what you truly believe, then your self-appointed credentials as a "Tea Party Scholar" are hereby revoked!
We are at war, and if we lose, they WILL kill us. It's the lefty way.
They are planning to do that anyways, always was.
You can’t have a communistic paradise if you have somebody opposing it.
They must die.
As I said, beating Obama in November TRUMPS all this time around. My guy is Rick, but I also support Newt. I'm not actively supporting Romney but if he gets the nomination, I'll vote for him. Let's also win Congress, another great way to push the conservative agenda forward.
we must win the Senate, we have the house...Harry Reid is holding up any changes the House of Reps have passed..
