WASHINGTON - US President Barack Obama's job approval rating, weighed down by soaring gas prices, has plunged below 50 per cent, giving his political opponents what appears to be an opening in the November election, a new opinion poll showed.
The survey by ABC News and The Washington Post indicated that only 46 per cent of Americans now approved of the way Obama is handling his job and 50 per cent disapproved.
The situation was a reversal from early February when 50 per cent approved of the president's performance and 46 per cent disapproved.
According to the survey, the drop was attributed to soaring gas prices threatening to crimp America's slow recovery from a recession.

BINGO!
Nobody beleived me as I said I was willing to pay more if Obama would be one termer.””
I have heard many people say the same thing. I have no problem with whatever price I must pay to get this tyrant removed from office. I would fully support 3 good generals too.
I remember when gas was $1.89 and the media was blaming Bush.
Now its over $4.00 - I cant understand why they arent blaming Obama.....””
It ain’t complicated. The yellow journalists of the alphabet networks, the nytimes, and hollywood blamed bush while they protect obama; the old media still blames bush and racism today. Media corruption delivered Bo to White house and media corruption will protect him.
The Spin is hes doing bad because of gas prices. No if it was the issue of gas prices it’s very easy for the ruling class to arrange to lower prices right before the election. its Obamacare, the Economy, Jobs (lack of), Marxism, corruption, his racism, attacking Christians, etc., that are why he has almost no individual donors and cannot fill a fire station with his supporters.
It’s your ball and chain now, baby!....Good luck Gilligan!
Purchase a book of Post-it Note Pads Place the note pads in your vehicle(s) along with a Magic Marker. When stopping at the pump for gas, take a Post-it note and write the following How is that Hope and Change Working Out for You? After pumping your gas, place the Post-it Note on the pump, immediately below the price-per-gallon. Next driver to use the pump will get the message. If this goes Nationwide, think of the potential impact it may have on white, (we will never get the black vote) moderate, voters.”
You sir, have discovered one excellent idea. I will make this happen on my end and send this by email to a hoard of people. Outstanding!!
The dumb bastard has spent the past three years (and perhaps some of his voted-present term in the Senate) fighting US energy self-sufficiency.
Now he’s faced with the prospect of having Israel bomb Iran’s nuke program; or, having the US do that job itself; or, having Iran achieve nuclear war capability, and starting one in the region. Any of those prospects will destroy gasoline prices.
At that time, remember that “big oil” isn’t the enemy — the left is — then act appropriately.
The Kenyan-born Muzzie is run by OPEC and jihad (which are indistinguishable).
Thanks Past Your Eyes.
Exactly.
The cost of EVERYTHING.
But the Sheeple need that pointed out to them. I wish Newt would do an ad in front of a grocery store - or a meat counter - with this phrase:
If you bought it - a truck brought it.
And remind them the reason their food/clothes/ALL purchase are costing more - is directly because of the cost of shipping - i.e. GAS.
Of course, most have no ides how much bamamama has been deliberately destroying the trucking industry for 3 years now. His goal is - TRAINS.
He wants everything shipped by trains...he wants US to travel by train and other public transportation.
His goal is to cut way down on personal freedom - through our ability to travel freely, un-tracked.
I'm an old great granny. Don't go much of anywhere and certainly of no real interest to the gov't. But I'm stubborn. Where I DO go is MY business...therefore, I pay for gas with cash. No tracking files of when and where and how much gas I buy. P>If this gang is reelected, get ready for gas ration stamps. (I still have a book of WW11 gas ration stamps.)
WE need to do an 'ad bomb' note to NEWT on this.
If people got the connection, then every time they bought something, they'd 'get it." His '$2.50 gas" campaign would spread exponentially. (there's a lot of 'greenies' out there that thing gas prices SHOULD go up, to stop us gas hogs from buying so much. But if they got a clue that it's costing THEM every-time they buy ANYthing - a light just might go on.
People are morons because they don’t like high gas prices?
Re: NEWT AGAIN IS PROVEN GENIUS FOR BEING THE FIRST MAKING GAS PRICE A CAMPAIGN ISSUE!
He is definitely not like Boehner and other casper milquetoast types in Congress!!
No time to do that. As I have said on other threads, look to see gas prices ramping up steadily...even as high as $6...maybe more....until November.
Think about something: who benefits (cui bono)the most by driving Zero out of office...?
The oil companies.
Right now there is a worldwide increasing demand for oil with economies like China and India emerging. Obama's restrictions on US oil production are causing US companies to lose out on a huge emerging market.
The oil companies have the power to artificially elevating gas prices; it has nothing to do with the market; We have a glut of oil.
I will gladly pay even $10/gallon until November if the oil companies are behind this and if they are successful.
Just a theory......
Re: I remember when gas was $1.89 and the media was blaming Bush.
I am dating myself but I remember 32 cent/gallon gasoline which occasionally dropped to 22 cent/gallon with gas wars. This was in the 50’s.
[ Obama Killing that oil pipeline helped.
I suspect that as gas prices climb to $4.50 this summer his claims that he is the drill-for-oil president will fall on deaf ears. ]
I think you are right. Not only that, everyone but rabid Democrat partisans will think he is a damn liar.
“One of the news people on ABC this Week actually admitted that it was Obama who killed tax reform after agreeing to a deal, I was in shock.”
Wow!
