Newt was on Bill Bennetts show this morning. He sounded very tired (to be expected) but encouraged that he had done well and picked up his home state. He sounded committed to the idea of promoting his values and agenda.
Neither of these two, Santorum and Gingrich, really want to get out but they are both realizing that America's third choice is careening towards a delegate victory. If neither of them is going to get out, Gingrich and Santorum need to have some Lincoln Douglas modified debates that exclude the two liberal candidates.
I think they would begin to siphon back some of the protest votes going to Ron Paul as well as pull back some of the follow the leader votes that have been drifting to Romney.
naps,
There are only 50 delegates separating the two......
Santorum is extremely weak or has completely failed in all of these categories. He has lost too many delegates due to poor organization and planning alone. His inexperience in a national election is to blame. Also, the severe lack of interest in Santorum for the entire first 7/8th of the campaign year us also a factor.
Let's face it, you can't win against or without the fundamentals.
Rush was just reassuring us that an Obama victory is not inevitable.
“Either Romney or Santorum can beat Obama”
Did you read the thread where Sarah addressed the Santorum campaign calling for Newt to quit? She said that Newt needs to stay in for several reasons, but I nearly laughed till I cried at her response to them; “OH, BOO-HOO! Quit whining.” LOL!
Uh uj uhh uh well... I mmmmm...
I did. I thought it was funny too. I wish he would stop! He can tell his campaign to knock it off. Right now his staff is asking but silence makes Rick agree with this.
Rush is no different than you or I. He has an opinion which that is no better than any of ours, and he has been terribly wrong on many things, repeatedly through his past. Especially, during the 2008 election.
I’m ignoring you. If you are in the mood to flame somebody, or are looking for somebody to taunt, you are in the wrong place......I’m done with you.
Why doesn’t Mark Levin or Mike Gallagher stage a two-man debate between them on the radio? Not sure any other outlet would do it without the libs. Technically, Newt and Rick already had one two-man debate back in November which is on YouTube.
You're right. But you've also got to give Santorum credit for being a fast learner. Two weeks before Iowa, he was not nationally known. And he's the clear Romney alternative now. Let's see what he does between now and the next biggest set of primaries on April 24.
It’s tough to take a strong side after last night. It was devastating for both of our sides. Other than pointing out reality or the facts, you won’t hear much from me, until we see how the rest of this unfolds.
Your position is as good as any, and I certainly won’t try to discourage you. I am now a spectator, who’s purpose it is, to reflect reality and nothing more. Good luck to you, it sure can’t hurt to have hope!
Paul is a commie little punk. I am stunned that people continue to buy his snake oil BS.
Thank you. For once you’re too smart to refute the truth.
You’re done alright.
I agree with part of that analogy, but Rick had the entire 10 months prior to where he finally took off, to get organized, seek knowledge on how to prepare for the election, etc,,. No fault to you, but that lack of preparation is what will be his biggest set back. And Romney knows it.
You are right to wait and see what develops. It is about all we can do at this point.
I agree. If one of these two doesn’t step aside VERY soon and we end up with Romney, then I hope they both become pariahs to the whole conservative movement until the end of their days.
I support Santorum as I believe he has a more consistent track record of conservatism and because I believe Gingrich is not very electable in the general. That’s not a slight and there a good number of people who believe just the opposite.
This plan represents the best alternative and really the only way they could POSSIBLY both stay in and not lose the whole d@mn thing to Romney.
Im down with that. Newts muh man but Rick is my backup

Ditto.
This is the way it happens almost every time. The Conservatives spilt the Conservative votes in the Primaries and the lone Moderate ends up with the nomination. (John McCain comes to mind.) One of them (Rick or Newt) needs to GO!!! I like Newt, but hell, it’s time they drew straws or something.
He sure does. Newt is gracious. His ammunition, his FUEL, is good ideas which others can only steal or copy.
Newt reminds me of that old Jay Leno commercial where Jay says (with a smile) not to worry if you run out of Doritos because "we'll make more."
Newt never runs out of new ideas because he humbly honors the SOURCE of his good thinking, which is unlimited.
You really need to stop. How do you know if Newt is a good person or not, selfish or not, worthy of trust or not? Oh, I know - as a sanctimonium supporter, you, along with you corrupted candidate, have staked out the territory of determining whose good and whose bad...
read the following... if you have enough courage. It is filled with FACTS about Santorum, and then answer me this question:
What does it say about a man who presents himself as THE principled candidate, and does something like this, to American veterans, and what does it say about the people who support him because they consider him the most principled candidate...
I think once they seen the evidence the people can decide who's principled and who's not... please just answer my question... thank you very much. And if you can't or wont' answer it, maybe it's time to shut up until you can defend your candidate's self-righteous pronouncements and his past record... much of it so far uncovered..
