Don't dogpile Sandra Fluke (Vanity)
Freerepublic ^ | 03-02-2012 | Fishtank

Posted on 03/02/2012 2:00:11 PM PST by fishtank

I beg all of us here on Free Republic to STOP the dogpiling on Sandra Fluke.

No joke.

Don't follow Rush's bad example.

Name-calling will get us NOWHERE.

Remember the much better example of the woman at the well, and how Jesus dealt with her. That's a MUCH better way to behave.

she named herself by her words and wanting me to pay for her BC pills...no relation to the woman at the well...I don't think she asked Jesus and his disciples to pay for her sexual proclivities...

This Fluke person gets on national television, WHINING in front of a staged congressional “Show Trial” about “Poor me, nobody will subsidize my sleeping around” and we’re supposed to be nice to her?

NIAMFY.

Regarding your previous post:

Slang definition of “Pound Sand”
There are two takes on go pound sand. The more recent, seemingly a product of World War II, and often euphemised, is go pound sand up one’s ass. It is used to dismiss and deride, and is ultimately a vehement way of saying: ‘go away’. Examples include:

1944 Life vol XVI:26 53: The soldiers naturally thought the MP was ribbing, and amiably shouted back, “Go pound sand up your back.”
1981 JJ McAleer Unit Pride 336: “Why don’t you go pound sand up your ass? ... If it wasn’t for Hal and me gettin’ Billy and Dewey you wouldn’t have anythin’ to drink. Did you ever stop to think about that?” “Get the fuck outa here,” Coggins said.
1984 BW Durkin Oh, you Dundalk girls, can’t you dance the polka? 146: She’s only twelve years old, and my mother says — ‘Go pound sand up a pipe.’

Subsequent examples seem to have abandoned the euphemism, and one can assume that, when actually spoken rather than written, the receptacle was almost invariably the ‘ass’.

A variant meaning is to suffer or to act in a pointless manner:

1974 G.V. Higgins Cogan’s Trade (1975) 14: I was pounding sand up my ass almost four years.

The link to a rathole is possibly misleading. The late 19th century phrase pound sand in a rathole originated on campus and meant to be reasonably intelligent. It was usually found in the negative phrase not enough sense to pound sand in a rat hole.

1896 W.C. Gore Student Slang 14: pound sand, not to know enough to To be hopelessly stupid. ‘He can’t help us, for he doesn’t know enough to pound sand.’
1899 Ade Fables in Slang (1902) 154: Somebody that wasn’t afraid to Work, and had Gumption enough to pound Sand into a Rat-Hole.

However the stupidity implied in the ‘rathole’ use may underpin the mindless task that the later use with ‘ass’ suggests the dismissed person is requested to perform..

You have a point, but only because we on the right have allowed the left to define our language and our battlefield.

I agree. She's pretending to be a victim, lets not give the left the ammunition to say she is one because of what we say.

Isn't it funny how it all started with a question from a debate question from George Snuffleupagus, “Would you outlaw contraceptives?” If people can't see this has been a set-up from the start, then they are.....democrats.

Rush is right when he says that the left can't talk about abortion because it's so damning for them (not exactly his words, but close) Obama is terrified that his vote to allow babies to die after an attempted abortion, will show what a cruel, heartless and calculated sociopath he is. Someone probably had to tell him it was cruel and wrong, because I really think he sees nothing wrong with it. He does not care if the baby suffers a horrible death.

I bet there is a study out there showing Obama having the traits of a sociopath. I know they yearn for power and don't feel sorrow or guilt. They have to fake normal emotions by watching other people express emotions. That explains a lot....Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Dancing queen Frank,......so many on the left who don't cringe about abortion. It's like there missing something.

Let me get this straight. A confirmed leftist freely chooses to come before Congress, permits herself to be used as a pawn by Nancy Pelosi, wants ME to pay for HER sexual escapades, refuses any and all personal responsibility and gives us a sob story how she cannot have unbridled sex without consequences because the Catholic school SHE chose to go to frowns upon paying for such acivity...

She wanted attention and asked for that attention. She deserves every bit of scorn and ridicule that we can possibly give her. She is a disgusting piece filth and a slut.

I will not refrain from saying so.

Actually it is about the “label”. The “label” is the lifestyle she is asking the US taxpayers to subsidize. She is the “label’s” poster child and is trying to destroy one of our core constitutionally protected rights. She deserves every bit of vitriol.

Ah! There is one of my mistakes—not bothering to look up the origins and connotations of that saying.

My meaning, which I could have said instead, was TAKE A HIKE!

The issue has never been free birth control which is already available for those that can’t afford it at any county Health Dept or Planned Parenthood. The issue is using Gov’t coercion to force a Christian University to provide free birth control and abortion inducing drugs against it’s conscience. Doesn’t matter though, the Rats and the media are spinning and lying through their teeth. And once they win this one, the next mandate will be abortion, count on it!

[ And if the woman at the well had told Jesus to pay her to have sex with men or else, what would Jesus have said? I’m guessing he would have tossed her IN the well! ]

Jesus wouldn’t have done that, that would have contaminated the groundwater from the well....
