Obama phones woman called 'slut' by Limbaugh

The young woman who was called a "slut" by Rush Limbaugh got a call Friday from President Obama who voiced support for her pro-birth control advocacy.

"He encouraged me and supported me and thanked me for speaking out about the concerns of American women," Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke said on MSNBC's "Andrea Mitchell Reports." She got the call from Obama while in a green room waiting to appear on the show.

"What was really personal for me was that he said to tell my parents that they should be proud and that meant a lot because Rush Limbaugh questioned whether or not my family would be proud of me," Fluke said. "So I just appreciated that very much."

Soon after she appeared on TV, Fluke also thanked Obama on her Twitter account. "Thank you @BARACKOBAMA for your call and words of support. It means so much to me and millions of women! #WeWillNotBeSilenced," she wrote.

Maybe 20 years ago, I decided the media had become so far left that I wasn’t going to constantly irritate myself by watching it.

Still it is impossible to ignore it completely. For example I was driving home from doing some shopping and CBS news came on the radio. It was a hit piece on Sheriff Arpaio.

I see just enough to realize that it has gotten even worse in those 20 years. They no longer can honestly claim to be objective without it being absolutely crazy.

2012: The only reason Obama defended the slut against criticism from Rush Limbaugh is because she was attacked by a white guy.

Maybe this will calm the storm and save some lives as did Obama’s apology to the Muslim world regarding the burning of Korans that were used to communicate messages between prisoners. I like how Rush read some Congresswoman saying that he was calling Sandra Fluke's honor into question and he responded by saying there was no question about her honor since she herself had been pretty definitive about that.
