This morning Glen Beck was discussing "what is a Christian" and used the full title of the LDS Church as proof they are Christians, not some whacked out cult based on a modern day "prophet".
He also spoke of how Soros thinks of himself as a god.
As a disclaimer, every member of that church that I've ever met was a clean living, humble and generous person...but that doesn't make them Christians.
Sorry, but it doesn’t work that way. A religion doesn’t get to deny basic Christian doctrine and make up its own, and then call itself “Christian.”
BTW, do you think Christianity is “more than a little strange?”
I mentioned that, nor do they claim to be. But let's not forget Scientologists, Jehovah's Witnesses, Jews and Quakers. There are probably many more.
As an ex-mormon, I know many good people who are mormon, doesn’t make them Christian in the Biblical sense. When mormon doctrine and theology is tested against the Bible, it fails.
Mormons worship a god who earned his way to becoming god, that he wasn’t eternal. He resides on the planet Kolob.
Mormons deny the trinity.
Mormons believe lucifer and christ are literally brothers.
Mormons believe that they can earn their way to becoming a god, like the one they worship.
Mormons believe that god and christ engage in celestial polygamy. Creating spirit babies needed to populate the planet.
Mormons believe that only those who are worthy temple recommend holders will dwell with god in the highest of 3 eternal kingdoms. All others will be cut off from their god’s presence.
Mormons believe and engage in pagan rituals that are required in order for one to complete the requirements needed in order to attain exaltation (godhood).
Mormons believe in a religion founded by a “prophet” who uttered false prophecies.
Mormons were content from the inception of their religion to label all Christians as apostates, whores of Babylon.
Only lately, in the past couple of decades have they sought equal recognition and point to the name of their church as proof that they’re Christians.
They can be mormons all they want, but when they try to lay claim to Christianity, they shouldn’t be surprised when Christians question it.
Nor should they expect a pass on many of their teachings and practices that contravene the teachings of Christ and the Apostles.
When you look into it you will find that the Jesus that the Mormons claim is their savior,(The morman book is not the Christian bible) and the Jesus Christ (in the Christian bible) that the Chrisians believe in is not one and the same. It is a different person with the same name.
Quakers don’t believe in the Trinity? President Nixon was brought up in that religion. Aren’t Jehovah’s Witnesses a hard shell version of Seventh Day Adventists? Scientology is the 20th Century version of Mormonism and Jews never claimed to be Christians.

Beck also stated today that Ghandi is in heaven with Jesus.

Bigotry? I don't think I'm any better than they are, nor would I mistreat or discriminate against them. I simply think they are engaging in false advertising.
See the many points in post #44 (thank you szonian) and tell me where in the teachings of Christianity all that came from.

In my youth...I experienced 3 mormons....that were overtly to the person racist. One of them was a "bishop".
One of them told me I was crazy believing in Jesus......
I have very little respect for those engaged in mormonism....and none whatsoever for Mitt.

I have studied Christian cults to one degree or another for over 25 years. No matter how they spin it, Mormons are deceived and going about deceiving others. Galations Chapter One says it all. Sorry, Glen, we aren’t buying what you’re peddlin’.

I don’t KEEP READING THEM, they are in the stream of threads and comments, constantly. I dont want to give up having the religion threads and comments but these Mormon Dramas are getting to be quite a bit much.

Absolutely false.
The only thing that matters is the eternal state of one’s soul. Only Jesus Christ can save somebody, not a church. Political opinions come and go. Only God’s word, The Bible, is the Truth. When Beck speaks against The Bible, then he doesn’t speak truth.
