This morning Glen Beck was discussing "what is a Christian" and used the full title of the LDS Church as proof they are Christians, not some whacked out cult based on a modern day "prophet".
He also spoke of how Soros thinks of himself as a god.
As a disclaimer, every member of that church that I've ever met was a clean living, humble and generous person...but that doesn't make them Christians.
Christianity, in it’s essence, is two steps: Believe and Receive.
Believe with all your heart that Jesus Christ is the historic. crucified, resurrected Son of God who died on the cross to bear the punishment of our past, present and future sins.
Receive his free gift of salvation by asking Jesus into your heart to fill you with the Holy Spirit and desire to obey and fellowship with God for the rest of your life.
This is all He requires (although there is still far more to living such a life). By faith we are saved and not by works, lest any man should boast.
If a person tells me they have done this, I will accept them as a Christian and hope to see evidence by their actions but I will not judge them. That is for Jesus to examine their hearts and judge them.
We will be shocked at the Day of Reckoning who is and isn’t accepted by Jesus and whose names are written in the Book Of Life. But that is not my job. It’s our duty simply to love one another as we have been commanded.

Christ died on the cross to free us from original sin. What was that sin? Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden tree of knowledge, committing the sin of pride (Believing they could be like God). Mormons would have us believe that after he ascended into heaven, he came back to earth and founded a “religion” that believes they will all be gods some day.

I think Santorum was talking about the false religion of American Liberalism, which includes tree hugging earth worship, homosexuality, goddess worship and feminine superiority, the self worship of atheism, the liberal's high priests of psychiatry and psychology, death worship and euthanasia, and liberalism's holy sacrament of abortion.
Therefore, since Mormonism adds things to be saved, it is not Biblical. You can call them Christian or not. Today being Christian can mean many things; but you cannot call Mormonism Biblical.

There's no way that mormonism in any way equates with Christianity. There's only one God, not tens of thousands.
And they've been under orders to stress the similarities ever since people like Mittens Romney became eligible for high office. Whereas, if you really study their written material, Christianity is abhorred by the mormons.
When they moved to Utah, they did so to get away from Christians.

Imagine my surprise in 1960 when I went to the Mormon temple first time. The ceremonies and the handshakes and such were just like the Fraternity Activation ceremonies I had just gone through when being activated in Sigma Alpha Epsilon as a frat boy. Sorry but all of the frats in the day copied Masonic secret ceremonies.
On another note I instantly knew at that moment it was all a crock.
