I've had it, after 55 years, with the Catholic Church. No more of my money for these people. Every homily is like an Obama campaign speech. Hiding the homosexual scandal, promoting Obama Care........ on & on.
Is there a conservative alternative?
Orthodox Church maybe? Never been to one but I'm ready to switch.
PCA.
Actually it is not to be disallowed that Rome or others can be led of God, and that they may speak infallible truths (Paul quoted a pagan prophet who did so in once instance).
Instead, the real contention is that Rome’s claims to be right based upon her claim of assured infallibility, in which she has infallibly claimed to be infallible when speaking in accordance with her infallible defined scope and subject based criteria.
Rome does claim to believe the Bible, as do other groups which hold to sola ecclesia (the church is the sole supreme doctrinal authority on earth), but it is the basis for her conclusions that are in contention.
Evangelicals manifest a common consent in core truths we basically agree on with you, and contend against those who deny them, as well as against teachings which are really based upon Tradition than Scripture, which is not the supreme authority of Catholics.
Although attempts are made to enlist support for these Traditions (such as praying to departed saints, purgatory, etc.) the authority for such is really the self-proclaimed supreme magisterium.

Ha! :D
"Lutheran Church Missouri Synod President, the Reverend M. C. Harrison, will take part in a Capitol Hill heaing Thursday (today). The hearing will focus on the issues of freedom of religion and conscience in relation to ( Oberfuerher Obama's recent diktat on health care issues )".
(....editorial comment insertion is mine and mine alone, you betcha).

Thanks, I’ll try them. There is a Greek Orthodox church in my town (Myrtle Beach in the winter).
The latin mass was all we had until I was 18 so I know it and comfortable with it. None down here near Myrtle Beach but near my MI home we have one about 30 miles away.
I’ll check it out when I get back up North.
thanks for the tip. I’ll look for one in my area (Myrtle Beach, SC).
“I interpreted Toaster tank as asking for a conservative Christian denomination, not just an address of a particular church building.”
Right!
I want to be “all in” when I go to church including the giving of my time & money.
PCUSA is very liberal, PCA is much more conservative. It’s why the PCA broke away from the PCUSA in the 70s.
I found one (LCMS) down here in Myrtle Beach. I’ll check it out.
Thanks for the tip.
“The Catholic Church is the Church established by Christ.
There are lots of flawed priests.
Have you spoken to the pastor about your concerns?”
I’ve talked to priests & written letters to the bishop to express my concern but it’s more than that.
Its the promotion of leftist political doctrine from so many of its pulpits (not just my parish). I can’t support that.
My donations go to house & feed the priests that promote this crap. I must stop paying for it.
“Youre just trying to start us all eye gouging and hair pulling with each other, right?”
No it was a serious question & I hoped to get serious responses.
Thanks!
The answer to the question posed is a definition of double predestination.
If you were to ask an OPC member if they believed in double predestination, they would say yes.
You also, obviously, have great respect for the product of the Catholic Church, for the Catholic Church was the original publisher of the Bible.
For many years after the death of the last apostle, there was no “Bible” -— as the teachings of Jesus were all part of an oral record, an oral tradition.
It took some time before anyone even thought about writing down any of what Jesus taught.
When that time came, it was the Catholic Church that produced the first Books, in writing, and it was the Catholic Church which decided which Books belonged in the Bible and which did not.
Ever notice how the Bible NEVER refers to itself?
There is a reason.
“Who wrote the Bible, our Debt to the Catholic Church” was written by a Presbyterian Bishop who later converted to Catholicism,, after much historical study of this issue:

Me too. But I feel a strong kinship with the OPC since it’s the closest denomination in resemblance to the PCA.
The serious answer, of course, is: Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.
Please let us all know how it turns out for you. I’m PCA myself but I have friends who are LCMS and I’ve liked their churches when I’ve visited them. It has a good reputation for being a Biblically orthodox denomination.
