Hamas announced the sole power plant in Gaza went dark after it ran out of diesel on Tuesday.
"The Gaza power plant has completely stopped working because of the shortage of fuel entering the Gaza Strip, and the depletion of diesel it needs to work," said Ahmad Abu al-Amrin, an official from Gaza's energy authority.
He called on Egypt "to assume its historical responsibility in supporting the resistance of the Palestinian people by ensuring they had all the necessary fuel to operate the plant".

Who runs a power plant on diesel? Damn, but that’s inefficient! Seems that with all of the money these assclowns have received/extorted from the world, they could’ve had a real plant built that runs on coal or natural gas.
They called on Egypt.
They called on poor old Egypt.
Why not Iran?, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Abbass? Why not the GCC?
Because they have been isolated and are being allowed to wither on the vine
Nice power plant you have there...be a shame if something were to happen to it.
I knew Obama should not have shipped them those Chevy Volts
Hey Hamas!
C-4 burns nicely, if a little too hot. I’m sure all your Semtex, Plastique or whatever you are using for “suicide” belts these days does also. Try it in your generators.
I’ve been told not to try to stomp on it while it’s burning... never felt the need to test the theory, though. ;-)
So, guess who most likely will come to their rescue? Yep, Israel.
Oh, I’m sure Egypt will get right on it. Hey Pallies, there’s always the UN. ~snort~
1.6 million people live in Gaza.
They depend on diesel generators for electric power?
And all their fuel comes through illegal hand dug tunnels?
And nobody propagandized the fuel shortage until - whoops - we completely ran out?
This cannot be the whole story.
What kind of energy Authority relies on one diesel..
What happens when they have to change the oil in that thing?
It is sad to hear that all the Arab states in the Middle East have run out of oil to help in Gaza.
Whatcha wanna bet Gaza is 120 days (or more) in arrears on their diesel payments?
Perhaps it was running on diesel because they keep blowing up the gas pipeline?
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

The Zionists are always to blame.
You have to prioritize. Hamas has more important work than taking care of people. They're there to kill. In 2010 there were 139 rockets, 245 mortars and three grads fired from Gaza. Why bother with fuel when they can import weapons to attack children instead?
When Hamas took over Gaza during the elections, they became responsible for collecting electric bills. However, most people in Gaza are used to paying bribes, not bills - Hamas is responsible for only 20% of the diesel bill for the power plant, and of course, they're not giving up what money they do happen to collect to the Palestinian authority.
The PA is now responsible for buying and providing diesel to the plant, and it is their own rules which is plunging Gaza into the dark. The calls, however, aren't from the PA - it's from Hamas, as if they can actually start providing the electricity AND they don't collect on bills, they figure that they'll have even more power in Gaza.
Meanwhile, hundreds die each year from accidents involving small generators - improper ventilation, fires, etc. The fuel supply goes through an Israeli checkpoint terminal - which means that Hamas would require PA authorization to get any fuel from outside the strip - that's not going to happen, so now the call to smuggle in enough fuel to run the plant.
Mind, this plant only supplies a fraction of the power required in the Gaza strip - but without it, the entire electrical distribution system falls apart as people try to overwhelm the Israeli (and Egypitian) energy sources.
Yep, just yet another day in the hell hole of Islam.
And thousands of otherwise intelligent people, world leaders even, want to give these people a state of their own to run.
The Palies could do us all a favor -- by drowning in their own bile.
