An antiquated voter registration system is to blame for listing 1.8 million dead people as registered "active" voters in the United States, the Pew Center on the States concludes in a new study that shows millions of mistakes in voter rolls across the nation and recommends online sign-up. The study found 24 million voter registrations, or one out of every eight, were no longer valid or are significantly inaccurate. Beside the nearly 2 million dead potential voters, 12 million registrations had the wrong address and 2.75 million voters were registered in more than one state.
"The system has been using technology that's really paper-based, mail-based, 19th century technology for a long, long time and it hasn't moved into the 21st century yet," Pew Election Initiatives Director David Becker said.
Election administrators say many of these mistakes occur when people move, or change their names. People often remember to update their driver's license, but don't realize their records are not automatically cross-referenced by a state computer. In most places, voters have to re-register separately.
Eight states are doing something to change that.
Colorado, Delaware, Maryland, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Virginia and Washington are creating a central, computerized database to share information with each other. This will help states electronically, and more quickly, verify if one of their voters has moved or died out of state. "Twenty-first century technology really affords election officials the opportunity to better serve their voters," said Becker, "by having more accurate lists, more convenient and more cost effective ways of being on those lists, and obtaining more accurate records."
Another cause for error lies in the early voter registration paperwork, say election administrators. Forms filled out by hand can be hard for election workers to read. That's why more and more states are starting to offer online registration.

When the southern states and the northern states start sharing data of registered voters we’ll see many snowbird haved voted in more than one state.

How does one provide verifiable proof of residency on-line?
The more states do this, the harder it will be to get caught with voter fraud, and the easier it will be to detect and eliminate redundancies.
James A. Baker and former President Carter chaired an Elections Commission seven years ago in which they recommended this step.
Registrations and voter rolls would be done at the state level. Each state would have an Elections Offices, and they would all be linked together.
When someone would move to another state, his registration would be sent from the old state to the new state.
It seems the states are starting to do this on their own, at the grassroots level, instead of being ordered to do so by Congress or the Federal Government.
An all electronic voting system would fix the voter fraud controversy. It would fix it by eliminating as many legitimate votes as necessary in order to show the democrat wins. Problem solved.
I know the suburban counties in the DC area could make some money this way ~
I moved out of NJ and sent a letter to the county Board of Elections, advising them we had moved out of state and requesting that they remove us from the voter rolls. Got a letter back saying when we didn’t vote in 4 consecutive national elections they would remove us. I haven’t yet checked to see whether I voted there or not. So even when you try to do it right, the system is screwed up.
just watch, Demcrat heavy states will “refuse” to share data. They have to protect their ability to cheat.
Right now our biggest election problem is the NYC centered MSM.
How does one provide verifiable proof of residency on-line?
Good question but I’d guess if one lives within a state, county, etc then there are things like drivers license, utilities, property records, school enrollment, employment, etc.
But if only each state would do a reasonable of job of purging their own voter records it would clean up a lot of mess. Heck a death within a county should be reported to the voter role custodian for removal, marriages, divorces, felony convictions could be reported, drivers license changes, etc. With the computer age we now have there’s no real reason not to have cross referencing of people movement in order to keep a valid voter role.
Dead voters are a major rat demographic......bet they fight this tooth and nail.
How about this - if caught double voting, one must pay the past income taxes of both identities? ;)
