CPAC 2012: Newt Gingrich hits the reset button.
Human Events ^ | February 11, 2012 | John Hayward

Posted on 02/11/2012 10:49:12 PM PST by true believer forever

No one can say they don’t know what Newt Gingrich will do after his inauguration. He’s got big plans…

He pledged to have a full list of his proposed executive orders and presidential findings published online by October, so that every voter will know exactly what they’re getting. He wants every Republican candidate to campaign with him on a pledge to hit the next Congress in a monster jam session that repeals the job-killing centralized corruption of ObamaCare, Dodd-Frank, and Sarbanes-Oxley by the time he’s sworn in…

… and that’s just an appetizer.

Within two hours of plopping his Dilbert calendar and family photographs on the Resolute Desk, he’ll have signed an executive order to cashier every one of the Obama czars. Then he’ll sign one to approve the oil pipeline from Canada to Houston. By lunch, he’ll have moved the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. Next up would be re-instituting Ronald Reagan’s Mexico City policy, to forbid spending money to subsidize abortion overseas…

By the time ex-President Obama “lands in Chicago,” he aims to have repealed “40 percent of Obama’s government.”

While I have plenty of issues with Grover, THAT is a keeper!

His ideas and solutions are all written out and posted at Newt.org but the vast majority of folks won’t take the time to go there to read it for themselves.

How true.

The biggest obstacle in the way of electing good leaders is greed and ignorance.

Either they are on the dole or they are too lazy to educate themselves.

My only comment would be, I hope “everyone” is going to be willing to support the nominee, (fill in the blank) once the incendiary primary is over.

Maybe by the close of Super Tuesday the perspective will become more clear.

Georgia 76
Idaho 32

Thanks for the post. It neatly sums up exactly why we should support Newt. Newt not only has a vision of what America should be but has a laid out a specific plan to get us there.

No other candidate has done that.

When in his timeline did he join Arlen Specter TWICE on his campaign trail, pretending that Arlen was “only” a “soft” pro-abortion?
When in that timeline he did meet the lobbyists on K Street, who gave him a payback in sonorous $$$$, after he lost his seat in the Senate?
When in that timeline did he strongly rally in support to Mitt Romney, calling him the “only true conservative”, even if that happened only two years after pro-life Romney signed Ted Kennedy’s healthcare mandate, known as Romneycare ?
When in that timeline did he cheat the Penn. taxpayers’ of $100,000?
When in that timeline did he support the idea that the government “has the obligation” to control the internet?
When in that timeline did he say that “The Pursuit of Happiness Harms America”, disavowing the Declaration of Independence?

No, I don’t want THAT flip-flopper Rick as president.

"This is the year to reset this country in a decisive, bold way. We need to teach the Republican establishment a lesson. We are determined to rebuild America not to manage its decay." --Newt Gingrich, CPAC, February 10, 2012

“I’m ready to describe my 15 percent flat tax as the "Mitt Romney" flat tax,” Gingrich declared. “I’d like to bring everybody else down to Mitt’s rate, not try to bring him up to some other rate.”

"I have proposed an alternative flat tax that people could fill out where you could either keep the current system — this is what they do in Hong Kong — . . . with all of its deductions and all its paperwork, or you’d have a single page: ‘I earned this amount. I have this number of dependents. Here is 15 percent.’ My goal is to shrink the government to fit the revenue, not to raise the revenue to catch up with the government (overspending)."

At 15 percent, the rich will pay more than those less rich. Someone who earns $100,000 would pay $15,000 in taxes, and someone who makes $100 million would pay $15 million. Doing simple math confirms that $15 million is much more than $15,000. That IS “fair share.”

Deroy Murdock wrote, "Republican primary voters now face mixed messengers: Gingrich possesses a luggage carousel worth of personal baggage, a visionary tax plan, and the courage of Godzilla. Romney presents a mere tote bag of quirks, a tepid tax proposal, and the bravery of a hummingbird."

"Whatever one might say about Newt, there is no denying the fact that he is the only candidate who had demonstrated with actual past accomplishments the attributes that our country gravely needs now.

And that is my main consideration in choosing our leader, not some nebulous idea like electability..."

Exactly what I've been saying about Newt for months and months. He's not just talk. He has walked the walk. None of the other candidates can hold a candle to his record of accomplishment.

I don't know about others, but I've got a lot more trust in the promises of someone who's actually got a record of getting things done, than someone who doesn't.

“when Newt endorsed Dede...”

Newt has admitted it was a mistake to back Dede Scozzafava, the Republican nominee in the 2009 NY-23 special election.

Hoffman, the Conservative Party candidate whom Scozzafava was running against, Doug Hoffman, recently remarked about Newt’s endorsement of his rival, “I would advise other conservative Republicans: Don’t hold this against him....Newt apologized to me for not endorsing me, and that’s water over the dam, I think.”

“He was very sincere in his apology,” said Hoffman. “He was given misinformation as to what this race was all about, and what the other candidate was all about. The people in this district, the sort of local leaders who had endorsed Scozzafava, fed him the wrong information.”

WHO among the Republican candidates strongly defends the Law of the Land, the Declaration of Independence, the Federal Papers and the REPUBLIC, as the Founders Fathers created, and swears to restore it after years of liberals’ damage to it?

There’s so much misinformation flying around,a lot of stuff to sort through. Exactly how many delegates are needed to determine which candidate gets into the general election?
