One of the most influential evangelical leaders in the United States says Christians should go to jail rather than comply with the Obama administration’s mandate to provide all contraception, including abortion-inducing drugs, in their health care plans.
Dr. Richard Land, president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC), told LifeSiteNews.com “we will not comply” with the Dept. of Health and Human Services’ mandate requiring religious institutions to cover abortifacient products such as Plan B, Ella, and the IUD.
“We want the law changed, or else we’re going to write our letters from the Nashville jail, just like Dr. King wrote his from the Birmingham jail,” Dr. Land said.

Another thing to think about ... Is Obama's mandate against Christians a preface to accepting Sharia Law in the U.S.
e.g. couldn't the maggots say it's ok to stone a woman for premarital sex... beheading someone who disagrees with Muhammad's teaching.

But, that still leaves Catholics/Christians stuck in a moral quandary with their employer's mandated insurance or even the government insurance exchanges.
Catholic Church can be pretty clever at times...what would happen if the Catholic Church were to offer its congregation health insurance of moral conscience? Someone posted a link to a Christian scheme, but I am not sure it holds up under the individual mandate?
But...there just might be a place for an Insurance of Conscience...
Would such a scheme then fall under the exemptions much like the Amish do?

I did read the muslims consider this healthcare insurance a form of gambling, and it is a sin for a muslim to gamble. So obamma gave them an exemption. As a Christian I feel the same, that gambling is a sin, so why are Christians not exempted from this healthcare fiasco?

To those who say that this will not matter in the election - don’t be so sure. Rejoice that some of God’s sheep may come home to the Good Sheperd over this.
In 2008 Catholics voted for Obama by 54% to 46% for McCain.
Compare that to 2004 when GWB got about 54% of the Catholic vote and John F Kerry got about 46% of this vote. bThat means that about 4% of the Catholic vote flipped from GOP to Democrat candidate in 2008. I think these are some of the independents - neither GOP or Democrats. With the economy in ruins, Obama bowing to Arab leaders, P-Bo disrespecting the Catholic bishops (in fact all religious people) in a blatent manner; the Democrats bullying the small remnant of Blue-dog, Pro-life Democrats, and by lying to them accomplished their defeat in 2010 and also passing Obamacare. Where’s the diversity in the Democratic party, huh? Pelosi accomplished not only Obamacare, but she cleansed the party of those few remaining pro-life, Democrats who had consciences. They were just getting in her way!!
These issues are not obscure, but out in front of everyone to see clearly! Of course there will be some idiots who will always vote Democrat - either because their politics trumps their faith - or because they are simply dimwitted. But I am feeling better about this 2012 election now than I did last week. The sh** has hit the fan, so to speak. They will never be able to put H-umpy-H-umty S-ibelius’s fiat back to respectability again with a straight face.
One more thing, it will be harder to continue the myth that Obama is such a nice guy. He’s a Marxist, and this entire episode was planned. He pondered the fallout over challenging the consciences of faithful Christian or that of challenging the hysterical feminists; he chose to side with the feminists, and to ignore the US Constitution. It’s as simple as that!
Can opt out, as a conscious objector, this immoral Government?
May God be with all of us who name the Name of Jesus Christ. May we all be willing to follow His call......even if it means persecution.
And if Obama is reelected, that very well may be where we're headed.
