Last night's Dorito's ad was apparently meant to be "funny". A dog seems to be responsible for a missing cat's disappearance and he bribes a guy with Doritos to keep silent.
If we find this offensive, are we too sensitive? Is it wrong to request Doritos to kill this ad? They suggest the dog killed and buried the cat , or even worse. My best friend's cat was killed by a dog a few year's ago.
So I guess any sort of killing is okay so long as it’s in a TV commercial. Let’s have a commercial about killing baby seals. Wouldn’t that be just spiffy? I mean, a clothing company advertising killing baby seals for coats. How innocent is that? And they could really make it humorous with guys just sitting around a campfire in the snow eating Doritos and if a baby seal just happens to survive the first beating they could just lean over and whack it again. And then they all would laugh. Yep, it’s funny killing animals so long as it’s a TV commercial.
Thanks! I like your idea. It wouldn't surprise me if my idea has already reached him, as I posted it on the site of the "local" newspaper which has been promoting it for a couple days. He's local to the paper.
Stupid commercial is right.
I didn’t watch the superbowl but wanted to see some of the ads. Unfortunately the first and only one I clicked on was the dog killed the cat ad. Disgusting and not funny at all.
I think the cat just ran off to a house that fed him better, and he decided to frame the dog and get even.

The cat had it coming. Just sayin..
Not just too sensitive. Far too sensitive. It's a joke. If you remove every topic which might offend someone somewhere from consideration, we will literally have nothing left to laugh at.

Go for it. But don't expect them to actually do pull the ad. I have the feeling that if this ad bothered you, you're looking for something to complain about. I' have no doubt that you'll find it in their response (or more likely, the lack thereof).
They suggest the dog killed and buried the cat , or even worse. My best friend's cat was killed by a dog a few year's ago.
What could be worse than being killed and buried, in your opinion, from a cat's point of view? Just wondering...
Very sorry about your friend's cat, but this dog probably didn't have anything to do with it.
Now if that had been GW missing all the libs would think it sassy, and irony, etc., etc., etc.,...
If you look real carefully, you'll see that it gives you the right to speak out if you are.
I doubt there’s anyone who loves cats-—indeed all animals—more than me. Being offended by that commercial is ridiculous.
“And they could really make it humorous with guys just sitting around a campfire in the snow eating Doritos and if a baby seal just happens to survive the first beating they could just lean over and whack it again.”
I doubt a baby seal is going to wander on up to a campfire where a bunch of guys are eating Doritos. I wouldn’t think that was funny at all. Too...rehearsed.
Good dog!
No, I don’t think the ad was offensive, it was quite clearly being played for laughs, what with the dog writing notes and all. I suppose some people might be upset by it. But you know, that’s life.
Ask me about microwaving cats for fun and profit
Use to be a bumper sticker on my truck.
I have four kitties and laughed.
Oooh! Excellent idea!
I can’t believe no one has mentioned the biggest victim in this commercial; corn! It is dried, milled, boiled in oil, then eaten! Does no one weep for the kernal of corn; the most mild of creatures!?
They’ve made plenty of movies pitting dogs and cats against each other, I think we can handle it. And just as movies are optional, so is TV.
